Show Intro

"Greetings my fellow music lovers and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. It is always a great pleasure to be with you. I am coming to you this week all the way from Los Angeles in sunny California because the mighty Lep are back. And we are in rehearsals for our Stadium Tour of the USA which starts in June. We are bringing it to the UK so don't panic, we will be there. What have we got for you tonight?. Sixty minutes, one hour of some fantastic music. I've only got one brand new song for ya and I'm saving it for the very end of the show. This is classic rock. Absolute classic rock. Starting off with UFO."

UFO

"I saw that band live more times than I care to remember and they never disappointed. Whether it was Schenker. Or whether it was Tonka Chapman on guitar. They were just fantastic weren't they. There from their 1977 Lights Out is UFO with Too Hot To Handle."

10CC

"Now it has been said down the years that love is a many splendid thing. But here's a band that may beg to differ on that particular opinion. In fact as far as they're concerned it can be quite silly. This is 10CC."

"And before that 10CC from their breakthrough album Sheet Music back in 1972 also. The song we heard Silly Love."

Uriah Heep

"Wonderful stuff there from Uriah Heep. From 1972. The album is Demons And Wizards. It's the deluxe edition version of course, with Traveller In Time."

Kate Bush

"Well all the votes are in and counted for this year's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame nominees. And I'm very to report that Judas Priest have finally been accepted and they're gonna be inducted in a ceremony coming up pretty soon. So is Dolly Parton. Figure that one out for yourself. However this next lady didn't get in which is an absolute crime. I voted for her and I know that Rick Savage voted for her. As did many other people but sadly not enough. So I'm gonna play some of her music and hope that she gets in next year. This is Kate Bush."

"And before that Kate Bush. the wonderful Kate Bush from the album Never Forever. Good luck next year Kate. The song we heard Violin."

Marizane

"Yep couple of bonkerzoid tunes right there. That is a band called Marizane. Who actually worked with Tony Visconti, David Bowie and T. Rex's producer, for a long time. Not sure he actually produced that particular song. It's from an E.P. called Stage One. The song is The Libertine. Nice bit of Brian May guitar at the end of that song."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're gonna fire up the Big Generator with Yes."

Yes

"And before that Yes from that brilliant album that is Big Generator. The song Love Will Find A Way."

T. Rex

"You may have heard that the title of the new Def Leppard album is Diamond Star Halos. Which is a line that we borrowed from the song Get It On. The line is hubcap diamond star halo. And it's a phrase that we often refer to when describing a certain kind of lyric. We could easily have gone with that particular song. From the genesis of T. Rex I suppose. Tyrannosaurus Rex. it's from an album called Prophets, Seers & Sages: The Angels of the Ages. The song Salamanda Palaganda. My point being that it's a very phonetic phrase. It doesn't necessarily mean a lot."

Rod Stewart

"This is Rod the Mod."

The Alan Parsons Project

"The Alan Parsons Project. It is the remix version of the album Tales Of Mystery And Imagination. All about Edgar Allan Poe. The song we heard The Raven." - (The station didn't play Joe's blurb about Rod Stewart - if there was any)

Robert Plant

"Right then take it away Robert."

Robert Plant/Ricky Warwick

(Once again no words for the Robert Plant or Ricky Warwick songs. Probably edited out to make way for the songs which were back up to 12. Less typing for me...)

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time from exactly the same place 'cause I'm in LA for about three weeks. Lots of rehearsals. Lots of press. Lots of promo. Lots of all sorts of stuff to do with launching of a tour. And a brand new album. Plug plug 27th of May in case you're interested. Diamond Star Halos is out."

"Until next week at least. I shall leave you with this. This is, saving it till last, the brand new song for this week is from Michael Monroe. My buddy. Ex-singer of Hanoi Rocks. He's got a brand new album coming out in June called I Live Too Fast To Die Young. And one of the first singles he has released off that particular album is this. It is the Murder The Summer Of Love. Until next week see ya!."
