[ More Info ] :: Def News [Oct 25th 2006] - UK Rock Chart Entry Re-releases do qualify for chart entry after all...and the Deluxe Edition, like YEAH! has failed to make the main album chart, for obvious reasons. But has made the Rock Chart, entering at #9. [ More Info ] :: Hysteria Charts [Oct 19th 2006] - Hysteria at 20/Deluxe Package Now that my copy has turned up (thanks HMV...) the section has been updated with new details and scans. (Ross Halfin's photos are included in the booklet after all.) The main new page added is called Hysteria @ 20 - a celebration of the album's 20th Anniversary with a full review of the new package, some pics of it and links to all the major Hysteria sections on this website. Many of which will be expanded soon. Lots of Hysteria era interviews/articles will also be added to this page. Since it's the band's best album, I think so!, it really deserves to have all it's sections updated. Including the long overdue return of the Singles Discography. [ New Section ] :: Hysteria @ 20 + Versions (Updated) [Oct 16th 2006] - UK Hysteria Release The band's most successful album has been re-released today across the UK. This section has been updated along with the original 1987 album section to celebrate the re-release. Included are some new pages as well as old sections back online again. And during the rest of the week (in between tour updates) they'll be more Hysteria related stuff. [ More Info ] :: Hysteria Deluxe Reviews Advert During the next week or two the Original Hysteria album section will be revamped. Right now it includes 2 "Versions" pages plus a new Reviews section (with UK magazine reviews from 1987) and a 4-page chart section: featuring chart postions throughout Lep's most successful period in 1988. Also back up is the Hysteria Songs section with band comments on the album and 8 of its songs. The Singles Discography will be expanded to include every major 1987-1989 release. [ More Info ] :: Hysteria 1987 Section [Aug 31st/Sep 5th 2006] - US Release Update/Booklet (Updated) Although listed as a 17th Oct release date by certain US retailers the proper release date has now been announced as Tuesday Oct 24th. Looks like we are now back to standard world-wide releases. In other news Ross Halfin sems to be having trouble with Lep's label who don't want to pay him much for use of his photos in the booklet. Ross has demanded ALL his pics be removed. So that may have affected the release and definitely the booklet's production. [ Related Link ] :: Ross Halfin (see Sep Diary) [Aug 23rd 2006] - Hysteria Deluxe Edition Tracklist/Release Date (Updated) The Hysteria Deluxe Edition details have been revealed by various UK retailers. The set is being listed as "Hysteria Deluxe Edition with Bonus CD" and span 2CDs with CD1 containing the original 12 album tracks remastered plus 4 of the b sides making it a 16 track CD. The Bonus CD2 has 11 tracks which include the main live tracks from Tilburg 1987 and the Extended versions/Mixes including Animal, PSSOM & Armageddon It plus Excitable's Orgasmic Mix. This bonus CD also includes the Stumpus Maximus & The Good Ol' Boys "Release Me" and another Tilburg track that wasn't released until 1993: "Elected". The album will be released in the UK on Monday 16th October. Retail Blurb :: "The double album will feature the full album remastered and a host of extras including all the "Hysteria" single b-sides, live b-sides and remixes together for the first time. The deluxe edition will also feature exclusive expanded booklet featuring a plethora of extra photos selected by the band and including an essay by Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke." [ Tracklisting/Lengths/Catalogue Number ] :: Here Amazon Link [Aug 8th 2006] - Hysteria 2CD Deluxe Edition Classic Rock magazine in the UK mentioned in their latest issue a couple of weeks back that the band's finest album Hysteria, will be issued in late 2006 as a 2CD Deluxe Edition in the UK. No details are yet known what the package will include as far as extra tracks but it promises to be more appealing to longtime fans than the recent hits CDs. Possibilities include demos, the extra tracks from the original singles & live tracks. This will be the 14th major album release and the first time, although they came close last year, that Lep have released two albums in the same year. It will include a booklet containing pics by Ross Halfin from the Hysteria era. Similar to the "4" box set booklet shown on his site (link below-top of page, first 5 pics) Classic Rock Quote :: "A Remastered and Expanded 2CD Edition of Leppard's 87 album Hysteria will be available in September. Hysteria has now sold more than 14m copies around the world." Ross Halfin Quote :: "...Def Leppard have a deluxe re-issue of Hysteria coming out and I've been asked to dig out photos for the booklet." September as a release seems to be cutting it fine if the booklet is still being worked out, hopefully not a sign of another delayed release.
