DEF LEPPARD Washed Out In WASHINGTON D.C. On THE STADIUM TOUR (Show Report/Setlist)

Def Leppard played show number 4 of The Stadium Tour in Washington D.C. last night with only 16 songs performed.

The show took place at the 41,313 capacity Nationals Park stadium.

The first show in Washington D.C. since October 1981 on the High 'n' Dry tour.

The only previous show played in the USA's capital city although they did play in nearby Largo/Landover, MD multiple times from 1980 to 1992.

The Stadium Tour show #4. Another regular show, no chance of any repeat of the rain in Atlanta.

Back to good weather and another spectacular rock show in front of a sold out crowd right?.

Well it seemed that way...but then Mother Nature stepped in and had other ideas.

Show #4 - More Storms/More Rain

Narara 1984, Mannheim 1986, Altanta 2022...and now Washington D.C. 2022.

Biblical rain, incoming thunderstorms with potentially dangerous lightning.

Welcome to The Stadium Tour Of Rain and Lightning with the crowd evacuated to to shelter under the concourse.

For the second show running.

Yes, last night's show featured the same set which was played without incident up to Pour Some Sugar On Me.

But then the rain had reached almost Atlanta proportions and incoming storms meant Joe had to sadly announce to the crowd that the show was over.

At least for Def Leppard and a "Show Pause" message was then displayed on the screens as Motley Crue's "crew" got to work preparing their stage set.

In 1988 the band said they dubbed the outdoor leg with Europe as the "Drought Relief tour" due to the rain following them for at least the first ten shows.

A similar pattern seems to be emerging on this tour.

But as you can see from the videos the show was just as epic as the first three just not quite as long.

Motley Crue

After a very long delay of over 45 minutes Motley Crue eventually got their closing show started.

Joe Elliott - End Of Show Speech (After PSSOM)

"Listen guys, sorry to say this but I've just got a message that we've gotta call this because there's a storm coming in which is a danger to all of us, lightning and everything. Nobody wants to get hurt. We don't wanna see anybody get hurt..."

The next Def Leppard show will take place in Flushing, NY on 24th June.
