DEF LEPPARD Set To Return To North American Stadiums In 2024

Def Leppard look set to return to stadiums in North America with news of two new shows listed by Ticketmaster USA.

The World Tour finished in Melbourne, Australia on 14th November ending two years of touring with Motley Crue as co-headliners.

After Joe announcing that the last shows of The World Tour in 2023 would be the last with Motley Crue, it was expected the band might be ending their time in stadiums and returning to arenas/amphitheatres.

Before this, with Motley Crue already mentioning a return to the USA in 2024, it seemed likely the Def Crue package may have returned there for a repeat of the 2022 tour.

2024 North American Dates

It now seems that although the plans have changed somewhat there will be another year of stadium touring.

Ticketmaster USA have now apparently "confirmed" a return to North American stadiums with two new show listings.

These are for venues played on The Stadium Tour in 2022 in San Antonio, TX (Aug) and Denver, CO (Sep) with General On Sale dates of 15th December and pre-sale dates before this on 12th December.

Co-Headliner (?)/Tour Partner

The main tour partner listed is Journey who the band toured with in both 2006 and again in 2018 on highly successful tours.

Journey currently have a 50th anniversary tour of arenas scheduled from February to April 2024 in the USA/Canada with special guests Toto.

The 2018 tour saw them played 10 outdoor stadiums which led to Def Leppard playing The Stadium Tour in 2022.

Opening Acts

Other acts listed include The Steve Miller Band and Cheap Trick (who played a couple of shows on The Stadium Tour and of course on many recent tours including the UK in 2018).

New Audio/Video Releases (?)

As for any new releases to coincide with this new tour we will have to wait and see.

A Live CD/DVD/Blu-ray release of the Sheffield Bramall Lane show would be a good excuse for a UK arena tour with December 2024 marking six years since the last one.

Tour Announcement Date (?)

A full tour announcement is expected to happen in a couple of days time given the 7th/8th will be one week before the general on sale shown on Ticketmaster.

The Stadium Tour itself was first announced in December 2019 before eventually being played in 2022 after two postponements due to the pandemic.

The six stadium shows played in August 2023 were also announced in December 2022.

Note - As with past tours (although not for a few years) - the Ticketmaster listings may disappear or change before the full run of shows is confirmed.
