Def Leppard's 'Songs From The Sparkle Lounge' CD will get a Japanese release in April according to retail listings. The album has been scheduled for release there on Wed 30th April. Unlike recent releases it would seem the traditional first release of a Lep studio album will be in Japan again. The CD has been given the catalogue number: UICR-1074 and will very likely feature at least one bonus track, although none are listed yet.
The tracklisting is the same as the one given out last week.

On the same day Universal Japan will release the album in a new format called SHM-CD or Super High Material. And like the 2005 Hysteria re-issue it will come in a LP cardboard sleeve. This release has the catalogue number UICR-9025.
Once again as they have many times in recent years in Japan, Universal will also re-release past Lep albums, this time in this same new format of SHM-CD.
Adrenalize, Hysteria, Pyromania, High 'N' Dry and On Through The Night will all be issued on SHM-CD in cardboard sleeves.
Feb 24/27th Updates - proper translation of Japanese release/updated details:
"Songs From The Sparkle Lounge (Title subject to change)
"New full-length album from legendary hard rock band Def Leppard features song structure remniscent of hit album "Hysteria" with sound production similar to that of "High 'n' Dry." Limited edition features the deluxe SHM-CD format (playable on standard CD players) and includes bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes interviews and music videos. *Unless otherwise indicated, DVDs are region-2 encoded (Japan, Europe, and Middle East), and carry no subtitles.
Bonus Track: Japan-edition bonus track."
The SHM-CD listings have changed to the above. Very likely this DVD will also be used as a bonus DVD in the UK/worldwide. A bonus track is also mentioned for the regular CD release.
SHM-CD Explanation:
"The high quality SHM-CD (Super High Material CD) format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players."
