Def Leppard played their first full live show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England on this day in 2018.

The show took place at the 147 year old and 5,000 plus capacity venue near Hyde Park.

The final night of the 2018 Teenage Cancer Trust concert series and the band's first full concert at the historic venue.

The first show the band had played since December 2015 on the 2015 World Tour in the UK.

This came before two more London shows at The O2 Arena and The SSE Arena (Wembley) in December on the UK Hysteria tour.

The 18 song set featured the live UK debut of 'Man Enough'.

Foolin' was played for the first time in almost 7 years the UK.

It was played for the first time in the UK since June 2011 in Derby at the Download Festival on the Mirrorball tour. And unplayed on a full tour since October 2003 on the X/Ten tour.

They were supported by Slydigs and introduced on stage by Roger Daltrey of The Who.

Joe gave an emotional introduction speech for Rick Allen before 'Rock Of Ages' and mentioned his mother Kath who was in attendance.

Phil recalled the show during two interviews in April 2018.

Phil Collen - April 2018 Interview Quotes

Favourite Def Leppard Show?/Royal Albert Hall Show

"So this is really weird because we just done it. But I keep saying. We just done this Royal Albert Hall show and it was one of the best gigs we've ever done. So that one I remember more than anything else because it was recent. But I have been saying that. For whatever reason it just kinda kicked in. It was amazing. And we recorded it."

"Like I said it was for the Teenage Cancer Trust so it was a really good thing to do, but the venue's 150 years old. You know the Queen's been there and it's like Prince this and god knows what and opera and everything. It was amazing. So everything kind of worked out and we were really good. The other thing is I love playing and singing in Def Leppard so they're like me favourite band. We sing. It sounds like it's fake. I look over and is someone using tapes?. It sounds so good. Yes all live vocals. Yeah absolutely yeah."

Phil Collen - April 2018 Interview Quotes

Royal Albert Hall Show

"It was probably one of the best shows we've ever done. The band was on fire. Everyone's voices was crazy. Obviously my guitar playing. I really benefited from playing on the G3 tour. So just everything about it was on fire. It was magic and Roger Daltrey from The Who asked us to do it. You know we toured with the Who last year, you know, we done a South American tour. We done a few dates with them. And Roger said: 'Hey guys would you be up for doing the Teenage Cancer Trust?'. And we're like Yeah!."

"So it was great and the Royal Albert Hall, for anyone who doesn't know, it's a 150 year old building. You know it's opposite Hyde Park and it's been home to Princes, Queens, Kings. God knows what all over the years coming there, opera, ballet, everything. So it was just an honour to play there and such an amazing event, you know, the Teenage Cancer Trust. So we had a blast. So if that's the starting point. You know if we sound that good like that, it's just gonna be insane when we get out on tour this summer."

Joe Elliott - Pre-Rock Of Ages Speech

"I actually almost forgot to introduce Phil. Mr. London Boy here."

"Well we've been through a few things/ Vivian is a survivor, but we've got a guy at the back of the stage that survived something pretty f**king hardcore and he deserves a round of applause too. Stand up Rick Allen!. And his Mum's here come on!. He's, as always, he's gonna introduce this one for ya."
