Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the marvellous Planet Rock. It is great to be with you once again. And after last week's celebratory 500th it is business as usual tonight. I am here to rock your world and what better way to start off tonight's show than with this beauty by Queen."

Queen

"Many many moons ago I had that on a bootleg so it was fantastic to see it get an official release back in 2017 on the 40th anniversary of the album. I wonder if that's how they wrote the song and then they changed it to the more familiar version later. We'll have to ask them one day. It is Queen from the album News Of The World. These days, it was originally a session for the BBC. It is of course We Will Rock You."

The Black Crowes

"Right then let's keep that momentum up shall we this is The Black Crowes."

"And before that The Black Crowes. Fantastic stuff from the album By Your Side. The song Kickin' My Heart Around."

The Hives

"Wow haven't heard that for a long time. What a fantastic band they are. Brilliant when they first came out. That is The Hives from the album Veni Vidi Vicious with Main Offender."

The Pretty Reckless

"Now I say this all too often but here's a band that should be huge. This is The Pretty Reckless."

"And before that The Pretty Reckless. I absolutely love that band, I can't understand why they're not filling outs stadiums they're that good, but there you go. The album is Going To Hell. The song Heaven Knows."

Alice Cooper

"Quite probably my favourite Alice Cooper song. I do play it quite often on the show as well. Well maybe once a year. Which is ten times since I've been doing this show no doubt. That is Alice Cooper from 1972's Schools Out album. it is My Stars."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. It is time for a little break. And when we come back, tales of mystery and imagination from the Alan Parsons Project."

The Alan Parsons Project

"And before that The Alan Parsons Project with an album all about Edgar Alan Poe. It is called Tales Of Mystery And Imagination. The song we heard The Raven."

Paul McCartney And Wings

"Good grief that gentleman is responsible for a lot of good music isn't he. Paul McCartney as he was known back in 1973. Sir Paul McCartney to you and I these days. From the album Band On The Run we just heard Ninteen Hundred And Eighty Five."

The Who

"Well this pesky Coronavirus really seems to have taken root doesn't it?. It seems that our entire infrastructure is just collapsing before our eyes. What have we got?. We've got sports being played in empty stadiums. People in supermarkets fighting over one bog roll. And gigs being cancelled left, right and center. Including one by the band that I'm about to play now who were due into Dublin next week to play the 3Arena. Sadly it has been cancelled. Or should I say postponed. Yes, till the end of the year so there is light at the end of this very dark tunnel folks. I thought I would console myself anyway by playing them. This is The Who."

"Before that we heard The Who sadly about to cancel their shows like thousands of other bands all over the Planet. But there from their brand new album. Four months ago actually. The song we heard Ball And Chain."

Thin Lizzy

"Weren't they just a wonderful band. the very fledgling Def Leppard big big fans of Thin Lizzy. And Phil Lynott what an absolute hero and a legend as a frontman. Superb stuff. the 1976 album Johnny The Fox. Same year as Jailbreak. It came out like six months after Jailbreak who does that these days?. The song Borderline."

Whitesnake

"Been emailing back and forth with brother David for the last week or so to make sure that he's OK. And I kind of came to the conclusion that I haven't played them for a while. So here's his mothership. This is Whitesnake."

"And before that Whitesnake from their most recent album and in my humble opinion one of the best albums they've ever made. It is Flesh Ans Blood. The song we heard Gonna Be Alright."

Uriah Heep

"They were due to be out on the road right now celebrating their 50th anniversary as a band. But sadly like every other artist on the Planet they have been cut down by the sword that is Coronavirus. But what wonderful music they have made over the years. They are Uriah Heep. There from the album Demons And Wizards we just heard Traveller In Time."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week, god willing!, at exactly the same time."

"So until then I'm gonna leave you with this. And I really wish we cold use one of these to kill this thing off. this from the album Black And White it The Stranglers and Tank. Until next week see ya!."
