Def Leppard 2006. Milan 2006 by Vaios

Def Leppard kicked off their 2006 YEAH! tour in Milan, Italy on this day in 2006 and video footage is available.

The band played the Gods of Metal festival in Milan, Italy at the Idropark Fila on 3rd June 2006.

The first date of a short European/UK tour leg that opened the YEAH! tour.

The band played four festival shows in Italy, Germany, Sweden and Holland. The Swedish show saw them as headliners of the Sweden Rock festival for the very first time. This was followed by a headline solo show in Switzerland.

The first time the band had played in mainland Europe since October/November 1996 on the 'Slang' world tour.

They then headed home to England for two shows in Sheffield and London supported by Cheap Trick and the Sensational Alex Harvey Band.

The North American tour would run from late June to mid November and become their most successful tour of the USA since the Adrenalize tour in 1992/1993.

At this first show the band played below headliners Whitesnake and after Motorhead.

Also on the bill were Helloween, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Edguy, Angra, Sonata Arctica and Crucified Barbara.

'Hell Raiser' started the show and was later followed by 'Hanging On The Telephone'.

'Rock On' was played in its new form as it had been on two US TV appearances and featured, for the very first time, a short bass solo introduction by Rick Savage.

16 songs in all were played with 'High 'N' Dry (Saturday Night)' making its first appearance since September 2003 on the X/Ten tour.
