Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott hosted another edition of his weekly radio show last night on Planet Rock.

This week's show included songs by Roger Taylor, Ricky Warwick and Slade.

"The album has been out a couple of weeks now. it has absolutely got some of the best stuff that they have ever written on it. They are VEGA. The album is called Grit Your Teeth. The song we just heard Blind."

Madre Sun

"Right here proving that the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree. I'll explain in a few. This is Madre Sun."

"And before that Madre Sun featuring on lead guitar one Mr. Tyson Schenker. Yes son of Michael. It is from an upcoming EP which is previewing an upcoming album. The song we heard Trick Up The Sleeve."

Von Hertzen Brothers

"I've yet to figure out why that band are not huge. They have been making some fantastic music for about what 20 years now. They are the Von Hertzen Brothers. It is the title track from the album New Day Rising."

UFO

"OK so we've heard the apple. So let's hear from the tree. This is UFO."

"And before that we heard UFO from the 1977 breakthrough album, at least in the USA. Turned them into huge stars over there. The album is Lights Out. The song Too Hot To Handle."

Ricky Warwick

"You know I don't think I've heard that since it was initially released almost 20 years ago. It is from the first ever solo album by one Mr. Ricky Warwick. Co produced by myself and Ronan McHugh. The album is called tattoos And Alibis. The song is Can't Get Arrested. Great bit of work."

Ace Frehley

"And before that Ace Frehley from an album released on exactly the same day as Paul Stanley's. Along with Gene Simmons and of course Peter Criss. Lovely bit of instrumental work from Ace Frehley. A song called Fractured Mirror."

Paul Stanley

"That is quite possibly the best KISS song that KISS never recorded. That is Paul Stanley from his solo album from 1978 when all four members of KISS released solo albums on the same day. The song we heard Wouldn't You Like To Know Me."

Slade

"OK let's take a little trip up to the black country for a bit of pop yob. This is Slade."

"And before that from the album Slayed...S.L.A.Y.E.D?. We heard Slade as SLADE. With that massive hit of theirs Gudbuy T'Jane."

New York Dolls

"They were sloppy. They were sleazy. They were sexy. They were superb. They are or they were the New York Dolls. From 1973 their Todd Rundgren produced debut album. Just simply called New York Dolls. The song Private World."

Velvet Revolver

"Now I'm a huge fan of cover versions. This is one of the best ever. This is Velvet Revolver."

"And before that we heard Velvet Revolver from the album Libertad. With an amazing version of the ELO classic Can't Get It Out Of My Head."

Roger Taylor

"And he wasn't even the lead singer in Queen. What a voice. Fantastic stuff. Roger Taylor from his debut solo album. I think it was 1981. The album is called Fun In Space. The song absolutely magnificent bit of work called Magic Is Loose."
