Show Intro

"Greetings music lovers and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. We have sixty minutes of fantastic music for you tonight in my humble opinion of course. Starting off with this. It's the only place that we could start."

Rush

"Yes as we were celebrating the life and times of the likes of Steve Clark, Phil Lynott and David Bowie last week, the news of Neil Peart's passing came just a little too late for me to feature in last weeks show. I cannot believe at the age of 67 we've lost yet another amazing musician. That's the thing though about classic rock, the music has been around for so long and it lasts so well that it actually outlasts the people that made it. I'm gonna be featuring quite a lot of Rush on tonight's show. But I wanted to start off with that one. Classic piece of work from the album Permanent Waves. The song is Spirit Of Radio. More Rush in a little while."

Michael Monroe

"So let's head over to Finland and his one man gang. This is Michael Monroe."

"And before that Michael Monroe from his latest album. It is the title track One Man Gang."

Punishment Of Luxury

"If you imagine Sparks and Roxy Music getting together to play some power Punk. It may just sound like that. That is magnificent stuff. It is Punishment Of Luxury from the album Laughing Academy with Puppet Life."

Sensational Alex Harvey Band

"Right then get out your oars. This is the Sensational Alex Harvey Band."

"And before that the Sensational Alex Harvey Band from the album The Impossible Dream with River Of Love."

Elton John

"Anybody that's followed this show Elton John for a long time will know I'm a huge fan of Elton John. Specifically that album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Not a bad track on it which is quite a feat for a double album. The song we just heard The Ballad Of Danny Bailey."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. It is time for a little break. And when we come back, more Rush."

Rush

"On June 1st 1977 Rush played their first ever British gig at the Sheffield City Hall and I was there. They basically played the entire live album All The World's A Stage with one brand new song thrown in the middle and that was the song. And what a challenge that must have been to play. From the then brand new album Farewell To Kings. We just heard Xanadu."

World Party

"Right setting sail for their very own private revolution. This is World Party."

"And before that magic stuff from World Party. The album is Private Revolution. The song Ship Of Fools."

The Beatles

"Well for my ears you just can't beat a good bit of vaudeville in rock. And nobody does it better than Sir Paul McCartney. There from the Original Soundtrack album of the movie Magical Mystery Tour. We just heard The Beatles with Your Mother Should Know."

Boston

"OK so here's a band that seems to be singing all about themselves. This is Boston."

"And before that we heard Boston from their eponymously titled debut album with Rock N Roll Band."

Dr. Feelgood

"Riding that very fine line between pub rock and punk rock. And doing it very well indeed. That is Dr. Feelgood from the Singled Out A-Sides collection with Milk And Alcohol."

Show Outro

"That my friends for this particular show is about it. It's been a real pleasure as always.I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So let's go out on this one. Now fair enough Neil Peart didn't plat on it, But this was my in to Rush. Played every Sunday for the whole year of 1976 at the rock club that was Improvisions at the Sheffield Top Rank. DJ Charlie I have a lot to thank you for introducing me to this wonderful band. From their debut album this is Rush and Finding My Way. Until next week see ya!."
