Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. Great to be with you again as always. What have we got lined up for ya tonight?. Well in my humble opinion we have sixty minutes of some cracking tunes. Very eclectic tracks tonight. Very eclectic indeed. Starting off with Public Image Limited.

Public Image Limited

"Well what's a young boy to do after the Sex Pistols imploded in San Francisco in 1978. You're hardly likely to go back to London and sign on the dole are you. No, you are going to start another band and he went from being Johnny Rotten back to his birth name of John Lydon and formed the band Public Image Limited. There the debut single. Taken there from a fantastic box set called The Public Image Is Rotten Songs From The Heart. Their debut single Public Image."

The Babys

"Well from one guy that flew back from San Francisco to London. To a bunch of guys who flew from Manchester and relocated to Los Angeles. This is The Babys."

"And before that from a album called Union Jacks we heard The Babys featuring the great John Waite on vocals with Midnight Rendezvous."

AC/DC

"It's so great to see Johnner back in AC/DC. Along of course with his buddy Cliff Williams. There from their brand new album Power Up is Through The Mists Of Time."

Lynyrd Skynyrd

"Right so blowing in from the swamplands of Florida is Lynyrd Skynyrd."

And before that we heard Lynyrd Skynyrd from Second Helping. Obviously their second album with Call Me The Breeze.

Whitesnake

"If you've heard the album I hope you'll agree with me that the remixes that David Coverdale commissioned. In fact was heavily involved in, are absolutely fantastic on this what is called The Rock Album. That is Whitesnake with the brand new remix of the song Forevermore."

You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. It's time for a little break. And when we come back, we're headed to first base with Babe Ruth."

Babe Ruth

"And before that Babe Ruth who featured on vocals Miss Jennie Hahn. And again what a great singer. They also featured at one time in their lineups Mr. Bernie Marsden once of Whitesnake. But that is pre-Brnie. it's an album called First Base. The song we heard Wells Fargo."

Janis Joplin

"Yep sisters are doing it for themselves right there. That is the magnificent vocal talent of Miss Janis Joplin from that album Pearl. What an album. The song Move Over."

Billy Preston

"This next gentleman had the very unusual distinction of once playing with both The Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Heree from the Madison Square Garden concert for Bangladesh, where he's playing with his buddy George Harrison, is Billy Preston."

"And before that the magnificent Billy Preston. From the album that is the concert for Bangladesh with That's The Way God Planned It."

"One of the most unusual voices in Blues Rock. In fact I've got friends back in the day that thought he was a sheep impersonator. The gentleman we are talking about is Roger Chapman. The band Family. It is from a fantastic album called Fearless. It was a hit single back in 1970, '71 maybe. The song is In My Own Time."

Jeff Lynne's ELO

"You know when he was a boy this superstar Beatles fan probably never dreamed that one day he would work with all three surviving members of the Fab Four. This is Jeff Lynne's ELO."

"And before that we heard ELO featuring the very very talented Mr. Jeff Lynne. From the album Alone In The Universe 2015. The song When I Was A Boy."

Graham Parker

"He was touted as Britain's answer to Bruce Springsteen. He wrote great songs. He had a great band. He was produced by Robert John 'Mutt' Lange. He is Graham Parker there. It is actually Graham Parker And The Rumour from the album Heat Treatment with Hotel Chamber Maid."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. And I'm just thinking when I was a boy. Yeah when I was a boy I used to listen to this music all the time. And you know the the great thing is?. I still do.

"That's the beauty of rock music. It stays with you forever. And we are gonna end with a band that will stay with me longer than most. From the Bay Area that is San Francisco. Their debut album in 1973. This is Montrose and I Don't Want It. Until next week see ya!. "
