JOE ELLIOTT Says DEF LEPPARD Will Have Full On Tour Schedule In 2020

Def Leppard 2019. By Chele Drappel

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott was interviewed by Minnesota radio yesterday about the Down 'n' Outz and mentioned 2020 touring plans.

Joe spoke to Tom Barnard and local news anchor Chris Egert of the KQ Morning Show to promote the new Down 'n' Outz This Is How We Roll album.

Joe talked about Down 'n' Outz This Is How We Roll album, band history, Personal Song Writing, Def Leppard 2019 Touring Schedule/2018 Tour, Def Leppard 2020 Tour, Def Leppard Band Name, RRHOF Nominees and the Deaf Leopards sports team.

Joe indicated that Def Leppard will be back to doing another full on and busy tour in 2020. This will likely include another full North American tour as well as the much rumoured South American/Mexican return.

To date one festival show in Mexico City for May has been mentioned by locals but has yet to be announced. A full North American run is likely as they only played the Vegas shows and the three one-off dates this year.

Def Leppard have a show scheduled in Sacramento, CA on 2nd November which is their last of the year.

Listen to the full 10 minute interview below.

Joe's part starts at 1 hour 4 mins in.

The KQ Morning Show - Joe Elliott Interview Quotes

Down 'n' Outz This Is How We Roll

"I kind of borrow them when they're free. And that's one of the reasons this album took the best part of five years to record, because I had to record my bits any time between Def Leppard tours. And get them when they weren't working. So literally it probably took three months to record but it was recorded over a five year period."

"But it works great because musically it's like nothing from after 1975. It's a very 70s sounding album so it's never gonna go out of date because to as never in fashion in the first place."

Def Leppard 2019 Touring Schedule/2018 Tour

"We're just winding up for the year. We did a European festival tour in June/July. And then the rest of July we were in Canada. August/September we did the residency in Vegas for three weeks which was great fun."

"And then we just did a couple. We did the iHeart Radio show middle of last month. We just played Nashville. The Exit 111 festival this Saturday gone. And then we have a gig in Sacramento on the 2nd November and then we're done till next year."

Def Leppard 2020 Tour

"So, you know, it's been a...last year was a real hectic year for us when we did the stadiums and the arenas with Journey. That was like 86 shows we did that year. This year's only been about 40, 45. So it's kind of been like going to the areas that we missed last year."

"So next year will be another back on full, you know, Leppard tour again. So, you know, when we get the winter to hibernate which is nice. And maybe do some Down 'n' Outz shows, I don't know."
