Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. We have since moved on from their we've played gigs in Prague. We've played a gig in Milan. We've done Switzerland, but now we are bedded in in France on stage in about two hours time."

"Not gonna play any music tonight from the touring circuit bands. maybe one later on. Gonna play you some great music though over the next sixty minutes or so. Starting off with this. Absolutely brand spanking new music from the Stray Cats."

Stray Cats

"Sounding so much like most of the 60s onwards didn't happen but don't they do it well. Absolutely brand spanking new. That is the Stray Cats. The album is called 40. The song, brilliant opening track, Cat Fight (Over a Dog Like Me)."

Slade

"Now because last week's show was mostly about the bands that were on Download. In fact most of the bands on this month long European run we come and go from festival to festival interchanging on a daily basis. It's like a big game of musical chess really. It's quite comical. But because the show was set up last week for that purpose I missed a quite significant birthday. So I'm gonna celebrate it with you all right now. A very belated and very happy 73rd birthday to Noddy Holder from Slade.

"And before that we heard the band themselves from their Feel The Noize Greatest Hits collection with Cum On Feel The Noize."

Cheap Trick

"Two Slade songs back to back there celebrating Noddy Holder's 73rd birthday which was last Saturday. But of course they weren't both played by Slade. The last song we just heard was actually Cheap Trick from their 2008 album The Latest. Their version of the song When The Lights Are Out which was originally recorded by Slade on their 1974 album Old New Borrowed And Blue."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show on Planet Rock. This week coming to you from Clisson in France. It's time for a little break, and when we come back, we're gonna go and visit Captain Fantastic."

Elton John

"And before that. Absolutely magnificent. 1975 the title track of the Elton John album Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy."

Fleetwood Mac

"I managed to get home for a couple of days before we went to Download. So what do you do when you have a day off?. Well if you're me you go see another band play. I went to see Fleetwood Mac at the RDS Showgrounds. It's a huge stadium maybe 50, 60,000 people. Stevie Micks is on stage introducing a song. And I'm stood at the mixing desk as a guest with my good lady wife and a few friends and Stevie Nicks dedicates the song to me. Oh ground swallow me up now. It was kind of very sweet I have to admit. But it was...have you ever seen an old man feel all flushed and flirty. It was very odd but it was fantastic. And it was Stevie Nicks and we are great friends and she's a wonderful performer. Fleetwod Mac there from the 25 Years Of Chain. Originally that song featured on their very first album with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. The song is Landslide."

Golden Earring

"So after the Joe and Stevie love in at the Dublin Fleetwood Mac gig. You may think but you'd be wrong that we have a thing."

"And before that Golden Earring from the album Moon Tan. It is the annoyingly edited short version through time constraints I'm afraid of the wonderful Radar Love."

The Kinks

"I have been listening to the album that that song comes from all week. And for me it is the most complete album that that band ever made. it is The Kinks. The album is called the Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society. And the song we heard Wicked Annabella."

The Quireboys

"So from 1968 and 1973 all the way up to two bands with brand new music out this year 2019. Hallellujah. Starting off with The Quireboys."

"And before that The Quireboys from their most recent release. Just a couple of months ago. The album is called Amazing Disgrace. The song we heard, great bit of work, Seven Deadly Sins."

Whitesnake

"As I mentioned at the top of the show I'm not really playing much music from the European touring festival circuit bands because I kinda did that last week. But there is the one exception because this new album by Whitesnake is fantastic. It's right up there with some of their best work. The album is called Flesh And Blood. The song that we just heard Gonna Be Alright."

"."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, from Clisson in France, Hellfest 2019, is about it for this week. Whitesnake are literally just coming off stage and we're on in about an hour. So I better get a move on. I'll be with ya at exactly the same time next week from Oslo in Norway. And if there's any gossip between now and then I'll be sure to fill you in."

"Gonna leave you with this with a little bit of boop diddy diddy. Boop diddy do. From the album Innuendo this is Queen and Headlong. Until next week see ya!."
