Show Intro

"I'm not coming down. Oh no, I'm not coming down. I refuse to come down after such a magnificent week in New York. What a fantastic week we had. A week after the induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame I am still buzzing. We did the Howard Stern show. We did Good Morning America. We did bucket loads of press and it all came to a head with a fantastic ."

night last Friday when we performed four songs, got inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame by Brian May. And then did All the Young Dudes, as I mentioned last week. Not only with Brian May and Ian Hunter but with Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent. And Phil Manzenera from Roxy Music. And Susanna Hoffs from The Bangles. Steven Van Zandt from The E Street Band. What a fantastic way to finish the night. So I'm not coming down. So how good do I feel?. Well..."

James Brown

"What a great way to summarize positivity. All the way back to 1965. Written, produced and performed by one Mr. James Brown. I Got You (I Feel Good)."

Pete Townshend

Now of course there's a price to be paid for being good if the after show party goes on till nearly 5 o'clock in the morning. As can be summed up quite nicely here by Mr. Pete Townshend.

"And before that Pete Townshend from his solo album Empty Glass with the appropriately empty glass, with the also appropriately titled Rough Boys."

Crowded House

"Yes the aforementioned after party did go for quite a long time and what a wonderful occasion it was. It was full of record company people as you can imagine. It was a party that was shared in the magnificent room in the Palace Hotel in New York with Stevie Nicks so the guest list was insane. there was John Taylor. There was Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran. Brian May, Ian Hunter. There was all of Fleetwood Mac, Sheryl Crow and on the piano in the corner was one Mr. Neil Finn and you should. There's a great photograph knocking around on the internet of us going completely bonkers singing backing vocals with him. Myself, Sav, Vivian Campbell and a bunch of people. And the song that really took the night by storm was that particular song from Woodface back in 1991. It is Crowded House with Fall At Your Feet."

Tesla

"So that just about wraps up the shenanigans with the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Time to play some brand new music by. I will just say this one last thing. Produced by my fellow inductee Phil Collen. This is brand new Tesla."

"And before that again Tesla, possibly the best thing they've ever done. Produced by Phil Collen. The album is called Shock. The song that we heard The Mission."

The Quireboys

"Again fantastic brand new music there. In fact so brand new it only came out digitally yesterday and it comes out physically on the 19th April. That is The Quireboys from their brilliantly titled new album Amazing Disgrace. The title track in fact. Well done boys great record."

"You are listening to the still buzzing Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. It is time for a little break, and when we come back, we're gonna cross the bridge of sighs with Robin Trower."

Robin Trower

"And before that we heard from 1974 Robin Trower. Title track of the magnificent album Bridge Of Sighs."

Pink Fairies

"That my friends in the Pink Fairies sounding to my ears somewhat like Pink Floyd. The thing is here Dark Side Of The Moon came out in 1973. And this particular Pink Fairies album called Never Never Land came out in 1971. The song we just heard Heavenly Man. Maybe there's a case of us and them. Opinions on a postcard please."

The Struts

"OK so they just wrapped up their UK tour to fantastic reviews. I'm sure they're well deserved. Sadly I didn't get to see them. One day boys, one day. They're young and dangerous. They are The Struts."

"Ties in nicely with the new music of The Struts from their recent album Young And Dangerous. The song we heard Primadonna Like Me."

T. Rex

"From the magnificently titled Zinc Alloy And The Hidden Riders Of Tomorrow that is T. Rex with Venus Loon. "

KISS

"Now bringing some Sonic Boom to the proceedings. With a re-record of one of their early classics this is KISS."

"And before that we heard KISS from the Sonic Boom album. The second disc which was full of re-records. The one we just heard Black Diamond."

Manfred Mann's Earth Band

"I saw them live at the Sheffield City Hall when that song was in the charts back in 1978. Featuring Chris Slade on drums. Once of Tom Jones. Would go on to play with AC/DC. And also the fantastic vocals of one Mr. Chris Thompson. It is Manfred Mann's Earth Band with Davy's On The Road Again."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time god willing. Having made a full recovery from last weekend."

"Let's hope. Let's hope and pray that Mr. Mick Jagger does exactly the same thing after this week's heart operation. Which from what I have read was a complete success. They did have to cancel their US tour. but it's been rescheduled so fingers crossed he'll be back treading the boards as always as soon as possible. So let's dedicate this last song to Mick Jagger. And what a way to go out. It's Only Rock 'n Roll (But I Like It). Until next week see ya!."
