26 Years Ago DEF LEPPARD Film I WANNA TOUCH U Video In Ottawa

Def Leppard filmed their I Wanna Touch U promo video 26 years ago on this day in 1993 in Ottawa, ON, Canada.

The video footage was filmed as the band played an Adrenalize 7-Day Weekend tour concert at the Ottawa Civic Center Arena.

The show was the last time the band would use the In The Round staging.

Although two further shows on this leg were listed on tour T-Shirts and programmes they did not take place. Moncton, NB on 5th April and Halifax, NS on 6th April. Joe was back in Sheffield on 5th April to announce the Don Valley Stadium show and both venues confirmed in 2017 the band did not play the shows.

The video was directed by Phil Tuckett for NFL Entertainment with footage shot at this show also used in the 1994 'Action' video.

A fan who attended this show has confirmed the song was not actually played live. The studio version was played through the PA with the band performing to that rather than playing it live. Only done for the purposes of filming for the promo video. The rest of the show was live.

This was only the second visit to Ottawa. The first had also been an In The Round show, played in June 1988 during the Canadian leg of the 'Hysteria' tour.

The band returned to play this venue in 2000 and more recently in May 2015 during the Canadian tour with Emm Gryner's band Trapper in support.
