Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show on the wonderful Planet Rock. It's the last one from Joe's Garage. I'm gonna be locking it up and putting the key away in the cupboard and that'll be it for a while because we are heading off on the road. Yes Def Leppard and Journey hit the United States of America for sixty shows starting on the 21st of May. So I shall be coming to ya next week from somewhere in the New York area. More on that later on, probably. We have for you tonight sixty minutes of fantastic tunes. Starting off with this beauty by The Amorettes."

The Amorettes

"Co-written by one Mr. Ricky Warwick. That is The Amorettes from their brand new album Born To Break with Everything I Learned I Learned From Rock 'n' Roll. In fact everything I learned I pretty much learned from Ricky Warwick. He pretty much lived with me in Dublin, Ireland for about 12 years. He was my best man for my wedding. We were inseparable. Sadly he's moved to Los Angeles, I don't see him as much as I used to do, but we had so much in common. Specifically music and specifically a lot of great punk bands. Like this crowd."

Sex Pistols

"And before that the Sex Pistols from the Never Mind The Bollocks...Here's the Sex Pistols album. With I think the second hit off the album Pretty Vacant."

The Doors

"I play that one for Ricky Warwick because he left Dublin to go marry an L.A. Woman. That's why he's not here any more. That is The Doors or as we used to refer to them as the American Stranglers. Which was a nice kind of twist on the fact that people used to call The Stranglers the English Doors. From their Best Of collection that is L.A. Woman."

Ginger Baker

"Now what do you get if you take Peter Banks ex-guitarist with Yes. Ginger Baker ex-drummer with Cream. And Peter Noone ex-singer with the Herman Hermits doing a Who song?. Well ya get this."

"And before that yes what a strange mixture it as indeed. Formerly of Herman's Hermits Mr. Peter Noone on vocals. Cream's Ginger Baker on drums and the original guitarist in Yes Mr. Peter Banks with their take of a fantastic tune by The Who on a Who Are You all-star tribute album the song Magic Bus."

Electric Boys

"Featuring the very talented Mr. Conny Bloom on guitar that is the Electric Boys from their album Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride. Rags To Riches is the song."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on the very wonderful Planet Rock. It's time for a little break and when we come back, well these tales just don't get any stranger because it is after all the Sensational Alex Harvey Band."

Sensational Alex Harvey Band

"And before that absolutely barking mad were the Sensational Alex Harvey Band from the album Tomorrow Belongs To Me with the most ridiculous and phenomenal song The Tale Of The Giant Stoneeater."

Maria McKee

" So wonderful. So very Bowie and so off my radar for such a long time. That is Maria McKee from her 20th Century Masters best of collection with Absolutely Barking Stars."

Mr Bloe

"Right a couple of instrumentals coming up right now which is not something that I do very often and if you are of a certain age like me, I can almost guarantee that you have not heard this on the radio for many many years."

"And before that, and I guarantee you probably never heard it before ever if you maybe under 45. And if you're my age, you probably haven't heard it since it was in the charts in 1970. It was Number One. It was Mr Bloe with Groovin' With Mr Bloe."

Jeff Beck

"From the phenomenal Live At The Hollywood Bowl album that is Jeff Beck. And what a great bunch of people he had working with him on that particular night. Thank goodness they recorded it the likes of Steven Tyler, Billy Gibbons, Beth Hart and Buddy Guy. Not that he needed any of them on his signature tune written by one Mr. Jimmy Page we just heard Beck's Bolero."

Focus

That's got me all in the mood for one more instrumental but I promise I'm gonna follow it with a song that's got so many words we could have spread them out over these three instrumental songs and they'd still be some left over.

"And before that from Focus 3, the B-Side I believe of Sylvia. Those crazy Dutch yodelling minstrels Focus with House Of The King."

Eddie and The Hot Rods

"Wow just wow. What a vocal performance by one Mr. Barry Masters of Eddie and The Hot Rods from their Live At The Marquee EP back in 1976. Their version of the Bob Seger written Get Out Of Denver."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week from somewhere in the New York area. I'm not even sure exactly where we're staying but as long as there's a roof over my head, a TV and a bed I'll be fine."

"And that leads us nicely on to this last song. These young men, as they were back in 1976, originally from New York. They painted their faces. They would eventually move to Los Angeles and they became uber massive. Yes this is KISS from their 1976 album Destroyer and Shout It Out Loud. Until next week see ya!."
