Show Intro

"Evening all welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the fantastic Planet Rock. Which this week is coming to you all the way from the Mile High city. Yes Denver, Colorado. Def Lpepard has a great history with this particular city. We shot a lot of the In The Round-In Your Face in this particular city at the McNichols Arena which is long gone. Luckily tonight we're at the Coors Field which is one of these huge big Baseball stadiums. Again with Journey and The Pretenders. Should be a good night. This is gonna be a great show. It's gonna be a rocking show. We're gonna start off with Thin Lizzy."

Thin Lizzy

"Wiw it still sounds fantastic all these years later. Taken from the 1973 album Vagabonds Of The Western World that is the Mark I line-up of Thin Lizzy. Featuring Eric Bell on guitar with The Rocker."

Generation X

"So from The Rocker to King Rocker. This is Generation X."

"And before that we heard Generation X featuring of course Billy Idol long before his mega solo career. Now Billy Idol often guested with The Who specifically on Quadrophenia and more recently on the classic Quadrophenia which was recorded at the Albert Hall in London. There we heard Generation X and King Rocker."

Pete Townshend

"Stepping out of the shadows of The Who for just a little while there we heard Pete Townshend from his 1980 solo album Empty Glass with Rough Boys."

UFO

"Now earlier this week I had a nice little chat on the phone with my very good friend Mr. Paul 'Tonka' Chapman. So let's listen to a little bit of post Michael Schenker UFO."

"And before that UFO from their 1979, from their George Martin produced album. It was the title track. No Place To Run."

Stealers Wheel

"That was Stealers Wheel who once had in their ranks one Mr. Luthor Grosvenor aka Ariel Bender once of Mott The Hoople. but they are better known as the song writing duo of Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty. It's Stealers Wheel from their Greatest Hits Stuck In The Middle With You with a song called Star."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show all the way from Denver in Colorado this week. It's time for a little break and when we come back, we're gonna make some magic with Pat Travers."

Pat Travers

"And before that from the 1977 album Makin' Magic we heard Pat Travers. A song written about the relationship he was having with his then wayward brother. Let's hope that it all sorted itself out. The song Stevie."

Rod Stewart

"Lovely stuff there from Mr. Rod Stewart featuring of course on guitar Mr. Ronnie Wood. It was the title track from his 1970 album Gasoline Alley."

Heavy Metal Kids

"Right here with a song that sounds a lot like the beginning of a Queen song, which will be followed by a member of Queen going solo, is the Heavy Metal Kids."

"And before that from 1976 the album is Kitsch. The band Heavy Metal Kids. The song, and I've stayed in a few of these, Squalliday Inn."

Roger Taylor

"I've said it before and I'll say it many times in the future no doubt but that man has got fantastic talent. He is Roger Taylor the drummer in Queen of course. From his 1981 album Fun In Space with Magic Is Loose."

The Struts

"Well as you know more often than not we look back at the past on this particular show. But just for the next few minutes let's look to the future. Even if the future does sound somewhat familiar. Starting off with The Struts."

"And before that we heard brand new Struts, the album's coming soon and about time too, with Body Talks."

Greta Van Fleet

" Couple of bands there that I really hope will push rock music forward and that they both become massive. Yes their collective influences may be somewhat obvious but that doesn't mean that the music's not great and it really is great. We just heard there Greta Van Fleet from the Black Smoke Rising EP with Safari Song."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, all the way from Denver in Colorado, is about it for this week. It has been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you god willing next week at exactly the same time from Fargo in North Dakota which will be the last show of the second leg of the tour. And then home for a couple of weeks. Yippee."

"So gonna leave you with this. Absolutely brand spanking, hold on, Def Leppard. Yes we went into the studio to do a session just before the tour started. You do one of your own and you do a cover. This is the cover that we chose for your perusal I give you Def Leppard's version of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. Until next week see ya!."
