Ron Keel/Crash & The Metal Cowboy - Vivian Campbell Interview Quotes

2018 Def Leppard/Journey Tour

"I'm gonna have to look at an itinerary to tell you that. It doesn't always follow suit that we do one after the other you know. We have have 60 something shows on the tour. And you know certain cities Journey close, certain cities we close. But I will tell you right now 'cause I have an itinerary. Yeah we close it tomorrow night."

Touring With Journey Again

"This tour is absolutely epic with Journey. We've only toured with them once before that was 2006. And that was probably the biggest tour that we've had prior to this one. You know when a band like Def Leppard tour with a band like Journey it's one of those one and one makes three situations you know. I mean they have such a depth of catalogue with so many hit songs. As indeed Def Leppard do. So it's really a win win for everyone, you know, it's just wall to wall hits."

"It's been great touring with them and, you know, we personally with Leppard. We've really upped the anti on our production for this tour and it's really quite a spectacular show."

Being The New Guy

"Yes indeed. I'm the new guy. I'm the Ronnie Wood of Def Leppard and hopefully always will be. I mean as long as I'm the new guy then that's good. You know it's all good."

Second Last In Line Album/Band History

"In fact we've been in the studio and we're currently just - they're sending me mixes. We're mixing what will be our second album. Which will be released in early 2019 and then. The reason we're holding off on the release is because I wanna be able to tour behind it. So pretty much as soon as I'm done touring with Def Leppard I'm going on the road with Last In Line."

"You know I do keep busy, but it is, it's a very joyous project for me 'cause it really gives me a chance to reconnect with my early formative years from the early DIO band and to play those songs. So Last In Line we play a combination of original material and the early DIO classics. And the original material is very very much in a similar vein to early DIO music and you know it's really joyous to be able to go out and exercise that muscle again as a guitar player. You know and really play aggressive rock music."

Side Projects

"In fact Joe has a side pr0ject called Down 'n' Outz and Phil has a project called Delta Deep. And you know we talk about this and how it actually helps us to come back fresh to Def Leppard. You know to get out and do something a little bit different in the down time and then when we come back as Leppard, you know, we actually have a renewed enthusiasm for what it is we do. And it's just, it's great to be able to be able to have the best of both worlds."

Second Last In Line Album

"And the new album, they just sent me a couple of mixes last night. Phil and Andy and Vinny are mixing the album back in LA. And it's just, it's so exciting. I mean it's a great second. I mean it shows real development and real growth. It sounds like a band's second album. You know we've been playing a lot of shows with Phil Soussan as you said and you know Phil's kind of brought in a different dimension to the band and it's really been kind of growing and it's a fun fun project, you know, so I do it as much as I can."

Side Projects Tour Together

"It would be actually, Joe has actually mentioned that a couple of times. You know I don't know about the logistics or the economics or the scheduling of something like that, but it would be fun to do at some point you know."
