DEF LEPPARD Celebrate 40th Anniversary In SIOUX FALLS, SD (Show Report)

Def Leppard played another show with Journey on the 2018 North American tour last night in Sioux Falls, SD with 16 songs performed.

The show took place at the 10,229 capacity Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.

This show coinciced with the 40th anniversary of the band's first public live show in Sheffield, England on 18th july 1978.

The band last played Sioux Falls on 22nd April 2017 on the Summer Tour 2017.

The 7th show the band have played in Sioux Falls and third time at this venue which was opened in September 2014.

The first visit to Sioux Falls was in September 1992 for an In The Round show on the Adrenalize tour at Sioux Falls Arena.

After an eight year gap they returned in January 2000 on the Euphoria tour with Joan Jett in support.

The next show was in December 2002 on the X/Ten tour with Black Star Riders frontman Ricky Warwick supporting them as a solo acoustic artist.

Ricky was also the support act when they came back to Sioux Falls arena in September 2005 on the Rock Of Ages tour.

After an almost ten year gap they would return in August 2015 with Styx and Tesla for the first show at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.

A second show here was then played in April 2017.

Joe referenced the 40th anniversary of the band's first show before 'Rock On' and again before 'Two Steps Behind'. The band were formed in November 1977.

(after hugging Sav) "40 years ago tonight me and him first gig. F**king hell!. Cheers to that right!. We have had an amazing evening tonight. How about you?. Just one look at this place is all you really need to see. But I've gotta say the f**king noise coming out of the audience tonight coming to us, almost louder than the band. So thank you for that. I mean what a noise."
