Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Which this week comes to you all the way from Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. Home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Well at least the ball's round. It's just a little smaller than the one that we got used to watching for the last couple of weeks. And how close did the England team come and how well did they do at this year's World Cup finals. We are so proud of Gareth Southgate and his squad. I think it's save to say we can all agree England Rocks."

Ian Hunter

"As you may have already figured out the theme of tonight's show will be a little more sporty than usual. I was also hoping it would be a little more celebratory, but sadly it's not to be. However we do have a lot to look forward to in a couple of years time with the Euros. And we have a lot to look forward to musically tonight as well. We opened the show there from 1977 Ian Hunter's Overnight Angels with England Rocks."

AC/DC

"This is AC/DC."

"And just a couple of years later 1980 from the album Back In Black. The best selling rock album of all time. AC/DC Shoot To Thrill."

Sham 69

"Jimmy Pursey giving it large there with Sham 69 from 1978. The song is If The Kids Are United."

London

"For the next couple of songs I think we might just stick with this punky yobbo terrace anthemic go go thing that we've got going on here. Starting off with London."

"And before that they were punks. They were called London. The song Everyone's A Winner. And in their ranks they had a drummer named John Moss who would later on go on to play drums for Culture Club and become Boy George's boyfriend. As you do."

Slade

"Well they weren't exactly Punks but when they started out in the mid 60s they did have shaven heads and they had Doc Martins and they looked pretty scary. So if you'd have been walking through a street in Wolverhampton you may well have crossed the road to avoid them. they would later change their name to Ambrose Slade and then it would get changed to obviously Slade. And there they are kings of the glam rock scene in the 70s. Go figure. From their Greatest Hits Feel The Noize. That is Slade with Cum On Feel The Noize."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show all the way from Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois right now. We are gonna take a little break and when we come back, we're going all the way from Chicago to Kansas. Carry on."

Kansas

"And before that we heard Kansas from the album Left Overture with the magnificently epic Carry On Wayward Son."

Mick Ronson

"Great advice there for the England squad, albeit from 1975. That is Mick Ronson. Title track of his album Play Don't Worry."

Little Steven

"Well you could day that after decades of abject failure, the one thing that the England squad have done this year is give us all a little bit of salvation."

"And before that Little Steven and the Disciples Of Soul. Who happen to be Jason Bonham on drums and U2's Adam Clayton on bass. It is from the album Born Again Savage. The song Salvation."

The Undertones

"I know what you're thinking. I only put it in because it mentions the word Subbuteo. Well at least it is Footy themed. But no I actually think it's a fantastic pop rock song. That is The Undertones hailing from Derry in Northern Ireland. From the album Hypnotised with My Perfect Cousin."

British Lions

"Now here's a song, the title of which sums up how I think we should all feel about how well our boys did out in Russia."

"And before that we heard British Lions from their debut album back in 1977 with the magnificent International Heroes."

Steve Winwood

"I would like to dedicate that track to Neymar. It is the 1981 title track of Steve Winwood's album Arc Of A Diver."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, all the way from Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois , is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. Tainted with a certain amount of sadness I suppose. But next week business as usual from Denver, Colorado."

"So this week we're gonna finish with what else but the National Anthem. Until next week see ya!."
