PHIL COLLEN Says DEF LEPPARD Bringing HYSTERIA Tour To Japan In 2018

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen has been interviewed by the Tampa press and mentioned a Japanese Hysteria tour.

Phil was speaking to The Minaret Online to promote the G3 tour and new Delta Deep live album 'East Coast Live'.

Phil talked about the G4 Experience, the current G3 tour, working with Joe Satriani/John Pretrucci, having the flu, Vivian guesting with him in LA, Delta Deeps history and Def Leppard's Hysteria tour being played in Japan.

Phil followed up his recent news that the Hysteria album tour will hit Japan.

His comments that the tour will be played in the UK and Japan suggests these shows will be scheduled between the end of the US tour on 6th October and the start of the UK/Irish tour on 1st December.

The last Japanese visit took place in October 2015 and saw the live debut of 'Dangerous'. Four shows were played in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Sendai including another concert at the famous Nippon Budokan.

"We’ve got a huge tour coming up. We’re releasing the catalog and a bunch of people have never heard this stuff. We’re touring the whole catalog basically. We’re playing Hysteria in England and Japan, we’re going out with Journey in May in the U.S. There’s a lot happening. I just finished producing the Tesla album—that’s mixed and mastered, that should be out in May. That’s phenomenal and really intense. It sounds like you’ve got Queen, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, The Beatles, and AC/DC all mixed up. It’s pretty amazing."

"I’m doing some Delta Deep stuff but I kick off with Quadrant Four, which is an instrumental off a Billy Cobham album from the early ‘70s. I do Yo To Joe, the song I did at G4 that Joe played on with me. Then we bring Debbi Blackwell-Cook out and do some Delta Deep stuff. It’s a different flavor. Then John Petrucci comes out and it’s a different flavor again. Then Joe gets up and it’s a completely different flavor."
