DEF LEPPARD Film HYSTERIA Tour At London's O2 For Cinema Event (Show Report)

Def Leppard played another show on the 2018 Hysteria tour last night in London, England with 17 songs performed.
The show took place at the 20,000 capacity The O2 Arena and was filmed by a camera crew (read more below).
The actual capacity for concerts is around 16,000 and the show was sold out on the first day of sales back in January.
The band's first time in London since 25th March 2018 for the Teenage Cancer Trust concert series.
The 37th appearance by the band in this city and first time at this venue.
The first visit here was in September 1979 at Hammersmith Odeon with Sammy Hagar.
They would return to play their first headline show in October at Imperial College (close to the Royal Albert Hall).
Four shows followed at Hammersmith Odeon with AC/DC in November before four dates were played in 1980 at the Marquee Club, Camden Music Machine and Lyceum Theatre.
A total of six shows were played between July 1981 and September 1987 at Hammersmith Odeon including three nights in September 1987 on the original hysteria tour.
I February 1983 Phil Collen's first show was played at the Marquee Club at the start of the Pyromania world tour.
Two more Hysteria tour shows were played in April 1988 at Wembley Arena. By the end of the 2018 tour the band will have played seven London Hysteria tour shows. Five in 1987/1988 and two in 2018. The 1988 dates were also the band's first UK arena shows at a time when technically there were only two major UK arenas, Wembley and the Birmingham NEC.
In 1992 the Freddie Mercury Tribute show was played at the original Wembley Stadium before two Adrenalize In The Round shows were played at Earls Court Arena (also since demolished).
A run of three Wembley Arena shows then took place between 1996 and 1999 on the Slang and Euphoria tours.

Setlist/Staging
The 'Hysteria' album was played in full for the very first time in London.
'Run Riot', 'Excitable' and 'Love And Affection' were all played for the first time here.
The full Hysteria album was followed by five songs again. 'Wasted' was played as song #13. The second time on this leg and third time overall in 2018.
This song was played at probably all of the 1979 to 1983 London shows but not since February 2003 at Brixton Academy. And before that October 1999 at Wembley Arena. It was also played during one of the September 1987 Hysteria shows at Hammersmith.
Cinema Event Show Filming
A full film crew were in the arena filming the entire show. This news was revealed on Facebook by the Official tour photographer Kevin Nixon who says the footage will be used for a 'Cinema release event'. This would be the band's second such event after the September 2013 VIVA! Hysteria film was also released first in cinemas around the world.
