2 Years Ago DEF LEPPARD Release The LET'S GO Single

Def Leppard released the single Let's Go from their current self titled studio album one year ago on this day in 2015.

The first single taken from the Def Leppard studio album.

The song had been premiered on 15th September on the Rolling Stone website after the full tracklisting had been revealed the day before.

The song was only released initially on iTunes via the listing for the full album. Although it was available to buy as an individual download.

The song was one that Rick Savage brought to the first writing/recording sessions for the album in February 2014.

"It's one of those songs when we kind of approached the way we were doing stuff and playing each other our ideas. We'd kind of giggle and smile and go that sounds like us you know. At the end of the day it's classic Leppard. It's got that Let's Get Rocked, Pour Some Sugar On Me, Rock Of Ages anthemic, stadium rock thing about it. Even the song Undefeated off the Mirrorball record; it's the same kind of thing. It's one of those songs when you hear it you, you go this would sound great in Madison Square Garden or Rod Laver Arena, in these big iconic buildings all round the world. It's one of those songs that leaps out. And it is classic Leppard. We weren't trying to reinvent the wheel. Sav, our bass player Rick Savage, came up with that song and we knew it sounded like an echo of our past and we were more than happy to do that."
