Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. What do we have for you tonight?. Well, sixty minutes in my humble opinion of magnificent music. Some anthems of our generation, and some anthems of a Degeneration. This is Million Dollar Reload."

Million Dollar Reload

"I saw those guys open for The Quireboys in Dublin about five years ago and they were fantastic. I must admit, I obviously don't get out much, I haven't heard a thing from them since, But what a great record it is. the album is called Anthems Of A Degeneration. The band Million Dollar Reload. The song we just heard, Superslave."

Glimmer

"And talking of The Quireboys. Well after The Quireboys originally split, and a long time before he became a Down 'n' Out, Guy Griffin had a band called Glimmer."

"And before that we heard Glimmer the band at the time ex-Quireboy/current Down 'n' Out. Now current Quireboy of course and still current Down 'n' Out Mr. Guy Griffin. The album Silverzone. the song Velveteen."

The Tubes

"That chorus just gets me every time. So gospel like and if it has echoes of Todd Rundgren. Well that's because Todd Rundgren produced that record. The band however are The Tubes from their 1979 album Remote Control. The song is I Want It All Now."

Space Waltz

"Now nothing pleases me more than to discover new/old music as it were. Does that make sense?. You know the things we may have missed first time round. Well, forgive me if you're a Judas Priest or a Motorhead fan because yes this is camp as a row of tents. But it did make Number One in New Zealand in 1975. This is Space Waltz."

"And before that Space Waltz all the way from New Zealand back in 1975. Came second in a talent competition. Had a Number One single an then disappeared without trace. The song Beautiful Boy."

Marizane

"Now I believe that if you took Queen and Sparks and Cockney Rebel and David Bowie and you put them into a mixing bowl, stirred it round a little bit and poured a bit into a cup you would end up with that band. That band are Marizane. From their EP Stage One that is Sad Foolish Robot."

"Right pop quiz time. What do you get if you put Rick Wakeman, Carmine Appice, Huw Lloyd-Langdon (once of Hawkwind) and yours truly together?. Well, we'll find out after the break."

Joe Elliott

"And before that from a Who tribute album called Who Are You. You heard myself, Carmine Appice once of Blue Cheer and Rod Stewart, Rick Wakeman of course who played with David Bowie, The Strawbs and obviously Yes. And Huw Lloyd-Langdon from Hawkwind with our version of the song Love Reign O'er Me."

Ian Hunter

"There was a time where Ian Hunter thought that he would never release that song. It had been in the vaults for so long he figured it would probably come out long after his demise. Not so once Campbell Devine, who put the Stranded In Reality box set together, found it. It was coming out and what a piece of work to have been buried for all these years, That is Ian Hunter. The album is Experiments. Part of the Stranded In Reality box set. The song Salvation."

The Psychedelic Furs

"Right taking us from Midnight to Midnight. This is The Psychedelic Furs."

"And before that The Psychedelic Furs from their album Midnight to Midnight. The song All Of The Law."

Roger Taylor

"Having some Fun In Space that is Roger Taylor from his debut solo album back in I think about 1981. The song is Magic Is Loose. Great bit of work."

Dr. Feelgood

"Well from Fun In Space all the way down to Canvey Island. This is Dr. Feelgood."

"And before that it was Dr. Feelgood from the collection All Through The City and originally I believe from their debut album Down By The Jetty. The song She Does It Right."

The Pretenders

"It's nice to see that Chrissie Hynde has still got some of that Punk rock attitude tucked down her back shiny trousers. I was reading a report recently where she was, how can I out this?, remonstrating profusely with the audience at a gig she played in Dubai for taking photos all the way through the show on their cell phones instead of watching the gig. Good for you girl. That was The Pretenders there from 1980 with the song Mystery Achievement."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"Until then I'm gonna leave you with this. It's the Natural Thing to do of course. From the album No Heavy Pettin' in 1976 this is UFO. Until next week see ya!."
