Show Intro

"Evening all. Welcome once again. It is the Joe Elliott show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Sixty minutes of what I consider to be fantastic music. Starting off with this beauty, needs no explanation."

AC/DC

"I'm sure you already know this but just over a week ago we lost the great Malcolm Young to that awful disease dementia. Which also just a few days later took out 70s pop star David Cassidy. really is a dreadful, dreadful disease, but he did ride on our behalf that Rock 'n' Roll Train for the best part of 40 years and we thank him for his amazing service to the band AC/DC. And there they are from from the album Black Ice with the song Rock 'n' Roll Train."

Cold Chisel

"OK we're gonna stay Australian just for the next few minutes. Featuring the fantastic vocals of one Mr. Jimmy Barnes. This is Cold Chisel."

"And before that featuring fantastic singing. And what a great, great voice that guy has. His name is Jimmy Barnes. The band Cold Chisel from 1982. The song You Got Nothing I Want."

Guns N' Roses

"Still out there doing it. In fact they played Rock In Rio one day before Def Leppard did. Just about what?, eight weeks ago now. That is of course, who else, Guns N' Roses from the album Use Your Illusion I with Right Next Door To Hell."

The Stranglers

"Right then time to get all Rattus Norvegicus. This is The Stranglers."

"And before that from 1977. Fantastic stuff from The Stranglers. The album Rattus Norvegicus. The song (Get A) Grip (On Yourself)."

Arcade Fire

"Following in the footsteps of some amazing Canadian artists. This is Arcade Fire from their album The Suburbs. The song Ready To Start."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show right here on Planet Rock. It's time for a little break and when we come back. We're gonna visit the human menagerie that is Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel."

Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel

"And before that Cockney Rebel featuring the wonderful talents of Mr. Steve Harley. From the album Human Menagerie, the song Sebastian."

Paul McCartney And Wings

"There's an outstanding version of that song on an album called The Art Of McCartney. A tribute to the great man himself Sir Paul McCartney. Sung by none other than Mr. Paul Rodgers. But that from 1973 is the original Macca version from his other band Wings. the album is Band On The Run. The song Let Me Roll It."

Heavy Metal Kids

"Right a couple of bands coming up that really know how to have a good time. Starting off with the Heavy Metal Kids."

"And before that the Heavy Metal Kids. It's a song called Nothing But A Houseparty."

The Quireboys

"Still out on the road promoting their White Trash Blues and doing acoustic shows right up until Christmas and beyond. That is The Quireboys from their album A Bit Of What You Fancy with Long Time Comin'."

Jet

"OK folks time to strip yourselves in. This is Jet."

"And before that Jet. Another band actually originated out of Australia. The album Get Born. The song Rollover DJ."

Jane's Addiction

"You know hearing that just reminded me of the fact that Perry Farrell also sang on The Art Of McCartney album. He did a pretty fine version of a song called Got To Get You Into My Life. But there he is with his real band if you like, Jane's Addiction with the legendary Been Caught Stealing."

Show Outro

"And it is time for this particular DJ if that's what you wanna call me, bit of a stretch as a description, too indeed roll over. I'm off to go and get ready to go and see Queen who are playing in Dublin tonight. I saw them a couple of months back in San Jose, California. It was so good I want more."

"So from the 40th anniversary re-release of the album News Of The World this is the alternative universe version if you like of the track Sheer Heart Attack. Enjoy. Until next week see ya!."
