Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show. Great to be with you. All the way this week from Charlotte in North Carolina where in just a few short hours Def Leppard will headline the Carolina Rebellion festival. 40,000 maniacs expected tonight. It's gonna be great. In fact it's gonna be doubly great because it's the last one before we take a couple of weeks off. We have sixty minutes of wonderful music for you tonight. Coming to you from the road. Let's experience a little bit of Street Life shall we with Roxy Music."

Roxy Music

"From their first post-Eno but third album in 1973. Stranded is the album. The band Roxy Music. The song we just heard Street Life."

Mick Ronson

"Now last weekend saw the 24th anniversary of the passing of the late great Mick Ronson. Let's celebrate his life right now shall we with two of the greatest bits of work he ever did. And neither of them are with David Bowie. This is Mick Ronson."

"And before that from Mick's second solo album Play Don't Worry. Same year. The song we heard his cover of the Pure Prairie League song Angel No. 9."

Ian Hunter

"There's only one word needed to describe Mick Ronson and it is legend. And there's only one word needed to describe how brilliant that guitar solo was and it is Incredible. From Ian Hunter's first solo album back in 1974. The song The Truth, The Whole Truth, Nuthin' But The Truth."

David Bowie

"Oh go on then Mick, just one more."

"And before that David Bowie from the 1973 Aladdin Sane album with Prettiest Star. A song that Bowie once recorded with Marc Bolan and the guitar playing on both versions is identical because Mick Ronson loved what Bolan did so much he copied it note for note."

T. Rex

"Originally recorded for the Slider album sessions but mysteriously left off the album and later on used for the B Side of Children Of The Revolution. That is T. Rex with a song called Sunken Rags."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show all the way from Charlotte in North Carolina this week. It's time for a little break and when we come back we're gonna get all biblical with Biffy Clyro."

Biffy Clyro

"And before that Biffy Clyro from the album Opposites with the wonderful Biblical."

Alice Cooper

"We were in the same hotel as Alice Cooper a couple of days ago. In Birmingham, Alabama we were and Phil got talking to the band down in the lobby. They invited him down to a little club where the band without Alice were playing a bunch of cover songs. Phil got up and played guitar and sang 20th Century Boy and Suffragette City, as you do. But there is Alice Cooper from the 1971 album Killer with You Drive Me Nervous."

Alter Bridge

"Now last weekends festivals saw us sharing a stage with some wonderful bands. One of which was Alter Bridge. Now you may or may not know this but I'm a huge fan of their singer Myles Kennedy having shared a stage with him a bunch of times with the Kings Of Chaos. Here he is doing what he does best. First of all with Alter Bridge and then with some dude in a big black top hat."

"And before that Alter Bridge from their album Fortress, both those last two songs featuring the wonderful vocals of Mr. Myles Kennedy. The song All Ends Well."

Slash

"It's hard to believe that he was actually born in Stoke On Trent, But I think it's safe to say that he made his name on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. That is Slash from the album Slash with a song called Starlight."

Queen

"OK listen up all you Queen fans. And listen carefully. For things may not be what they seem."

"And before that, could you tell the difference?. It's advertised as the long-lost retake from 1975 from the Night At The Opera sessions. It was Queen. It was Keep Yourself Alive, but it was a redo and it's a very, very good one.

Be Bop Deluxe

"From a time when bands would release two albums in the same year. Released a mere seven months after their previous studio album Sunburst Finish. That is Be Bop Deluxe from the album Modern Music. The song Down On Terminal Street."

Show Outro

"And that my friends all the way from Charlotte in North Carolina is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week god willing at the same time. From who knows where?. A cave, a mountain top, a beach. Somewhere not anywhere near a tour bus, an air plane, an airport, a hotel or a stage."

"So this last song turns into the perfect rocking metaphor for somebody going into a two week break. From their Action Ultimate Story Collection. This is Sweet with Set Me Free. Until next week see ya!."
