Crash Davis/101.9 The Keg - Vivian Campbell Interview Quotes

How Long Def Leppard Will Last

"As long as we can stand up we'll keep doing it. As long as there's a demand for it you know. And there seems to be. You know like I keep coming back to the generational thing. We're seeing more and more young people coming to the shows. And that's very inspiring for us and a great positive sign for the future of the band that we can keep building our audience. As long as we can then we'll keep touring."

"We're big, big fans of the Rolling Stones. I mean look at those guys. As long as you can do it and there's a credibility to it. I believe that that's important and that's part of the reason why Def Leppard still make new records. Even though we know that they're not going to sell. They're certainly not gonna sell to the extent that Hysteria and Pyromania sold. You know the record business just isn't that way any more for us rock bands."

"But we do that because it's important for us to be a creative entity and to stay valid. Even if it's just for ourselves. And our very, very hardcore fans you know. It's an important part of being valid and as long as we're valid we'll continue to do that. You know continue to tour and I don't see it ending any time soon you know. Maybe we'll play less shows per tour. You know take it a little bit easier. We used to do like four or five shows a week 20 or 30 years ago. You know we don't do quite that many any more. You kind of have to pace yourself as you get older, but the quality is still there. In fact the quality is still more than ever. So as long as it's there we'll keep doing it."
