Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott paid tribute to the Soundgarden frontman earlier tonight on his weekly radio show.

Sadly Chris was pronounced dead earlier this week in his hotel room having played a show with Soundgarden in Detroit, MI on 17th May.

He was 52 years old and best known for being a member of Soundgarden from 1984 to 1997 and again since 2010 after they reformed and released a new album called 'King Animal'.

As he has in recent months, Joe once again played his James Bond theme song 'You Know My Name'.

This was released for the 'Casino Royale' movie in late 2006.

If anyone who isn't familiar with his music wants to check anything out which he was involved in. You might like to listen to a self-titled album by "Temple Of The Dog" featuring him on lead vocals, Matt Cameron on drums and other members of Pearl Jam making up the rest of the band.

The Joe Elliott Show - 20th May 2017 Quotes

"As I'm sure you're already aware, the rock world was dealt yet another devastating blow this week with the death of Chris Cornell from Soundgarden, Audioslave and a great solo career."

"He was a force to be reckoned with, with that voice. So much so that you don't get chosen everyday to sing the theme tune to a Bond film. And there we just heard Chris Cornell, rest in peace mate, from the Casino Royale Original Soundtrack with a song called You Know My Name."
