Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome to the first Joe Elliott show on Planet Rock since the 2017 Def Leppard tour of the USA finished. We sent home last Monday night, 75 tonnes worth of gear in 35 trucks. We sent home 130 people in about 25 tour buses. So everybody gets to spend a bit of time doing R 'n' R. Not rock and roll but rest and relaxation. So I say this to all our friends and families. Hello. And to a bit of time off. Hooray. This is Alice Cooper."

Alice Cooper

"From their excellent 1973 album Billion Dollar Babies that is Alice Cooper with the opening number Hello Hooray."

Down 'n' Outz

"So you may be wondering where I am right now. Well, maybe I'm just enjoying the heat of an Indian summer out along the Appalachian way."

"And before that, last week I played an unreleased Joe Elliott song, this week that's an unreleased Down 'n' Outz song. There's a live album coming, recorded in Sheffield in 2014. So it's only three years late but politics being - contracts and work being what they are has delayed the release. But it is coming out later this year. The live version there of Ian Hunter's Overnight Angels."

Queen

"Well I'm certainly not enjoying an Indian summer 'cause it's way too early in the year for one of those. And I'm definitely not on the Appalachian way, because just the other day I was actually in San Jose, California watching Queen. What a performance!. What a fantastic stage show. You really have to see this when Queen and Adam Lambert come to the UK. The stage is the shape of Brian's guitar. The whole monolith thing that they used on the album cover for News Of The World comes out of the floor. It's amazing. You've seen it on YouTube no doubt if you're a Queen fan. They were absolutely amazing and there are Queen from the album News Of The World in 1977 I think it was with Get Down, Make Love."

City Boy

"Well, if the Overnight Angels were deadly, and Queen were delicious, City Boy were a bit of both."

"And before that City Boy. Amazing stuff produced by Robert John Mutt Lange. A song called Deadly Delicious."

10CC

"Excellent stuff there from 10CC. The album is 1972's Sheet Music. The song, bit hit for them, Silly Love."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on Planet Rock. It's time for a little break and when we come back, well, even in their quietest moments Supertramp knew how to hit it out of the park."

Supertramp

"And before that we heard Supertramp doing what they do best with the title track of the album Even In The Quietest Moments."

Free

"From a time where a rock band could have genuine hit singles. Oh how we wish we could still do that. That is Free from the album Free At last with a Little Bit Of Love. A song actually covered by Def Leppard in 2006 on the YEAH! album."

Thin Lizzy

"OK it's time to go running back with Thin Lizzy."

"And before that from their breakthrough 1976 album Jailbreak we heard Thin Lizzy with Running Back."

Sweet

"Getting oodles of airplay in the USA right now because of its connections to Guardians Of The Galaxy II. That is Sweet from their collection Action The Ultimate Story with Fox On The Run."

New York Dolls

"OK so who are the mystery girls?. I don't know, why don't you tell us you New York Dolls."

"And before that from their second album, produced by a guy called Shadow Morton who once worked with The Shangri La's. The album is called Too Much Too Soon. The band the New York Dolls. The song we heard Who Are The Mystery Girls."

Van Halen

"Still sounds amazing to this day doesn't it?. That is Van Halen from the album Fair Warning with Unchained."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time with more fantastic music. In my humble opinion of course."

"I'm gonna leave you with this winner tonight. Let's go out with fast and furious shall we. This is Aerosmith from the album Nine Lives and Crash. Until next week see ya!."
