Another eventful year for the band has ended and these updates look back at the major events that took place last year.

In November the accepted their Classic Rock Album Of The Year in Tokyo, Japan with Joe and Phil attending the ceremony.

On the same day the new 'And There Will Be A Next Time...Live From Detroit' DVD/2CD release was announced.

Vivian's band Last In Line also started their UK/European tour in support of the 'Heavy Crown' album.

2nd November 2016 - Vivian Campbell Says Def Leppard Will Tour In 2017/Riverdogs Album Done

Vivian once again said the band would tour in 2017 and gave an update on the Riverdogs new studio album. He said the album had now been completed and will be released this year.

Vault Greatest Hits 1995.

4th November 2016 - Def Leppard's Vault Album At Number 3 In The UK (21 Years Ago)

21 years since the band's first Greatest Hits album 'Vault' reached Number 3 in the UK charts off the back of their biggest hit single 'When Love & Hate Collide'.

6th November 2016 - One Year Ago DEF LEPPARD Album At #1 On The UK Rock Chart

The first anniversary of the current self-titled DEF LEPPARD album entering the UK charts. It reached Number 11 on the main album chart and did much better on the Rock Chart by getting to Number One.

10th November 2016 - One Year Ago DEF LEPPARD Enters US Album Chart At Number 10

The first anniversary of the current self-titled DEF LEPPARD album entering the charts in North America where it peaked at Number 10 on the main Billboard Top 200 chart. And also achieved Number One status on three additional charts - Top Rock Albums, Hard Rock Albums and Independent Albums.

11th November 2016 - Joe Elliott/Phil Collen Accept DEF LEPPARD's Classic Rock Award In Tokyo

Joe Elliott and Phil Collen attended the Classic Rock Awards in Tokyo, Japan and accept the Album Of The Year award on behalf of the band. Joe thanks the fans in his speech and remembers those musicians who had passed away in 2016 including David Bowie. Phil performed with a house band including Robert/Dean DeLeo and drummer Ray Luzier taking lead vocals on a number of songs.

Live DVD/CD

11th November 2016 - Def Leppard Live From Detroit 2CD/DVD February 2017 Release Announced

While Joe and Phil were in Japan the band announced the release of the new concert film/live album 'And there Will Be A Next Time...Live From Detroit' which had been recorded in July 2016. A new DVD/Blu-ray and 2CD release scheduled for 10th February 2017. A video of 'Let's Go' from the concert film was posted on YouTube as a preview.

Vivian Campbell and Last In Line started their UK/European tour at the Hard Rock Hell festival in Gwynedd, Wales. The first of 18 shows played around Europe and the UK. - Read More

11th November 2016 - Def Leppard To Start 2017 Tour In April/Work On New Music

Phil revealed the band's 2017 tour would start in April and that the band plan to work on more new music this year. In addition he hinted that the 30th anniversary of the 'Hysteria' album would be marked in some way.

12th November 2016 - Vivian Campbell Discusses Upcoming Cancer Treatment Issues

Vivian gives another health update and says his current treatments will have to end in summer 2017 as the clinical trial he is part of finishes. Other options will then be needed.

Vivian Campbell quote -"I can do the treatment for about another 7 to 8 months so by summer of next year I’m going to have to possibly consider doing something else because I don’t think it’s going to cure it but at least I can continue to work with this treatment." - Read More
