Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. We have sixty minutes of fantastic music for ya tonight. Glad to be with you. Keep wrapped up warm, it's cold out there. Let's warm this place up. This is AC/DC."

AC/DC

"And while Angus Young was running around like a schoolboy. I actually still was a schoolboy when that song was released. In fact for another year or so would still be a schoolboy. That is from 1974. The original Australian Jailbreak album. AC/DC with their cover of the old Them song Baby, Please Don't Go."

Dr. Feelgood

"OK down to Canvey Island once again folks. You know how I love to go there. Featuring the rock and roll gentleman that was Lee Brillo. This is Dr. Feelgood."

"And before that Dr. Feelgood from a brand new box set called Rock And Roll Gentlemen. We heard the song Baby Jane."

T. Rex

"Many of the bands and artists from the 70s had B-Sides that were arguably as good as their A-Sides. I'm thinking Sparks, David Bowie, Slade, Sweet. And that crowd T. Rex featuring of course Marc Bolan. That is taken from the 20th Century Superstar collection and it is Jitterbug Love. Originally the B-Side of the 1972 single Children Of The Revolution."

Bryan Ferry

"OK now time for a little bit of finger popping. This is Bryan Ferry."

"And before that Bryan Ferry from 1974 with a song called The 'In' Crowd. Originally done by a guy called Dobie Gray from an album called Another Time, Another Place."

Mick Ronson

"I would be the first to admit it's not Mick Ronson's finest song that he ever recorded but when the guitar solo kicks in. My word he really does just show the credentials that we all knew that he had and we all know and love still to this day. That is Mick Ronson from a posthumous album called Just Like This with a song called I'd Give Anything To See You."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on Planet Rock. It's time for a little break and when we come back. We're gonna go and visit the court of the crimson king."

King Crimson

"And before that we heard the fantastic King Crimson from the album In The Court Of The Crimson King with the wonderful 21st Century Schizoid Man."

Jethro Tull

"I'm not just playing that song 'cause I think it's fantastic and I've loved it ever since I first heard it back in 1970. When my mother came home from town with a five track seven inch single saying: 'Look at the value for money you're getting out of this' Just so happens I loved it to death. It is Jethro Tull. The song Life Is A Long Song."

"And I'm not just playing it because I love it. I played it because last night, along with 'Up The Pool' and bits of 'Locomotive Breath', I performed that song with Ian Anderson in Bradford Cathedral to raise some much needed money for some church restoration. A good thing to do just before Christmas don't you think."

Budgie

"OK it's time to cross over the border and head over into the Valley's isn't it?. This is Budgie."

"And before that we heard Budgie from the album Bandolier with a brilliant bit of work called I Cant See My Feelings."

Stealers Wheel

"I just took possession of a wonderful little three album box set called The A & M Years by Stealers Wheel. This is a band that featured the wonderful talents of Mr. Joe Egan and Mr. Gerry Rafferty who would go on to massive solo success with the album City to City which featured the wonderful Baker Street of course. But that is from an album called Ferguslie Park. The song, the second and last ever hit, a song called Star."

Redd Kross

"So while Budgie seem to have lost the ability to see their feelings. This next crowd, or should I say at least the subject matter of the song, seems to have lost the ability to speak."

"And before that we heard Redd Kross from the album Faceshifter with the song Dumb Angel."

Cheap Trick

"Why they were never bigger than are is baffling to me and all the friends that I have that love the band. They are magnificent. They are Cheap Trick and from their collection The Starbucks. That's the little played studio version of Clock Strikes Ten."

Show Outro

"Well as the clock strikes ten for Cheap Trick it's almost at the end of the hour for me folks. Which means it's time for me to go. I will however be back with you next week at the same time god willing."

"Until then I'm gonna leave you with some fantastic American power pop. Yes from 1976. The album Destroyer. The band Kiss and this is Do You Love Me. Until next week see ya!."
