On This Day in Def Leppard History - 26th August, the following concerts and events took place. Including the band's second ever show in Sheffield, England 36 years ago on this day in 1978.

Joe commented on the performance on UK TV in January 1993 - "I would say the weirdest gig that I've ever done. which was actually before Rick joined the band was we played a field in Sheffield once and they just ran a power cable from a house and we'd plug the things in. And it went dark and nobody could see us so somebody drove two cars in front of us and turned their headlights on and we got paid three quid."

On this day in 2014 it was confirmed that the band would return to Wembley Stadium in London, England on 28th September to play a pregame performance before the NFL international series game between Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins. Their first UK live appearance in 3 years and first time playing the new Wembley Stadium which was reopened in 2007.

Tesla released their live album Mechanical Resonance LIVE! on this day in 2016 featuring the Phil Collen produced song 'Save That Goodness'.

As of 2017, Def Leppard have played 11 times on this date.
