Def Leppard played the first of three shows in Atlanta, GA on this day in 1988 and MTV were there to film them.

The Hysteria In The Round show took place at the Omni Arena on 7th October 1988 and was the first of three nights.

The shows would be filmed with extra scenes used for the 'In the Round-In Your Face' concert film that had been mostly shot in Denver, CO over two nights in February 1988.

Some shots from Atlanta were also edited into the November 1988 US version of the 'Armageddon It' promo video.

At the first show MTV were on hand to film the band for a Rockumentary and for footage used on the Def Leppard Sunday special.

Including the most comprehensive interview segments ever filmed with Steve Clark. Footage that would be used in many other specials and news updates by the channel.

The parts used in the news report about his death in 1991 revealed the footage dated from 7th October 1988.

Joe also filmed his tour of the In The Round stage on this day. Or as he called it "Welcome to the Def Leppard stage of life".
