> Def Leppard ended the Sparkle Lounge tour in Auckland, New Zealand on this day in 2008 and Vivian Campbell sang a song by a popular local band.
The show took place at the Vector Arena.
The final date of the 2008 Songs From The Sparkle Lounge tour and the celebratory mood saw the band have some fun before playing 'Two Steps Behind'.
The 71st date of a tour which had started in Greensboro, NC on 27th March 2008 and worked it's way through USA/Canada, UK, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
The most countries played since 1996/1997 with 24 countries visited in all.
37 countries had been played on the Slang tour - the most played on any Def Leppard tour.
After being prompted by Joe, Vivian sang a verse and chorus of 'Better Be Home Soon' by New Zealand's own Crowded House.
The band's only previous visit to Auckland was in July 1992 during the Adrenalize tour.
They played a one-end show at the Mount Smart Supertop venue which could not hold the In the Round stage.
Vivian had previously sung snippet of Crowded House songs during the acoustic section of the 1996 'Slang' tour in Europe.
