Julie Devereaux - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

Postponed Shows/Joe Elliott's Health/Everybody Healthy?

"They are. We took some time off. Doctor's orders for Joe. Yeah he really needed - he had walking pneumonia last year. He got a really nasty cough on top of that. You know we was in England and the weather, you know, it's always crappy put there. So that happened and the doctor said look, you've really gotta take some time off. Keep pumping full of these drugs, it's not very good for you. You need five weeks off."

"So that's really what we did. Joe's doing fantastic. It's just what he needed. We'd been touring for nine months and promoting the new album. The self titled Def Leppard album. So we haven't actually done that in the States yet. So when we come to Boston. Or the Boston area, it'll be promoting the new album. So that's gonna be great."

Fans Wanting Old Songs

"Absolutely. It's the Rolling Stones thing. You know they - no matter how great the new song is. People just wanna hear the same old, same old. There's a very small minority of the audience who want to hear deeper cuts. And our thing is probably about five percent really because you know people just wanna hear Pour Some Sugar On Me, Photograph, Love Bites, Hysteria and Let's Get Rocked. They wanna hear them one. So you have to do that."

Playing Let's Go Live In 2015

"So it kinda limits the amount of time. Even though we had Let's Go which was a Number One on rock radio and everyone heard it. When we first started playing it/ We done a couple of shows where we threw it in at the audience and they didn't respond. We got to Japan and they loved it. England they loved it. Australia. So this time, you know when we get back to the States and start playing that song. I think it'll have settled in a little bit and it'll actually sound a bit more like the other songs. But you have to be careful with new ones. You have to be very strategic where you put them in the set, because no matter how popular they are, there's people who go who's this? you know. What's this?. How dare they!."

Delta Deep Live Album

"We also recorded the West Coast dates we done earlier in the year and we're releasing that as a live album this summer as well 'West Coast Live'. But we are gonna be playing East Coast live. We're gonna be doing right in the heart of Boston and New York as well. So that's gonna be really exciting."
