Phil Collen On Delta Deep's New East Coast Live Album/Brexit Vote

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen was interviewed earlier today by Detroit radio and mentioned the new Delta Deep live album.

Phil talked about the Delta Deep Live album, the other DD band members, Joe losing his voice on the cruise, The Brexit/EU Vote and the Led Zeppelin court case.

Phil says the Delta Deep album may become a mix of East Coast and West Coast live recordings.

He also commented on the stupidity that took place in the UK last week...whatever that was...

Delta Deep Live Album

"It is actually. We've got so much recorded. We done an East Coast run and a West Coast run. We recorded both. And I think the one we done on the East Coast has - sounded better. The recordings were better. So it's probably gonna be called East Coast Live. It may be a combination but that's coming out in the Fall. Yeah so we're excited about that. And we continue to play shows whenever we've got the time really. Everyone's got such wacky schedules. So it's kind of hard to pin everyone down."

Joe Losing His Voice

"He lost his voice. He'd just been overdoing it. You know we done this cruise on which everything went wrong. Jimmy Bain who plays with Vivian in Last In Line passed away on the boat. The weather was so horrendous we couldn't dock. So you know it was all these weird things and then Joe lost his voice. And we was scheduled to play so we got a few guests up and then I sung Pour Some Sugar On Me. Me and Vivian done Hysteria and Kip Winger and Eric Martin came up and done Photograph with us as well. So we struggled through but you know we had to cancel some shows after that. Which we made up already."

"So yeah that was the first time we done a cruise and probably the last I think."

The Brexit/EU Vote

"Well I think economically it shocked all the people who voted for it. They thought they were voting for immigration. There was people that were so stupid. They thought - actually I read one guy - actually who was in he States. Thought Brexit was breakfast. He thought that people were telling the English what breakfast they should eat."

"So there was some real stupidity going off. And I think everyone you know didn't realise that they're gonna be broke. You know especially the poorer people who haven't got much money who voted for Brexit. Are actually gonna be worse off than they were. And then they're not gonna be able to go on vacation. Not gonna be able to travel through Europe. You know when it finally kicks in which is another two years or something."

"So yeah I think it was a really bad move. Especially as - it's a bit like you know if a US citizen or someone said OK we're leaving the United States. Texas actually already wants its Independence. But there you go. So if you imagine all the protection you get from being in the United States and all of a sudden you're not in that. It's a little bit like that. You know it's a United States of Europe and then all of a sudden you know you leave and you don't get all the benefits that you get from being in a State. So that's really it in a nutshell."
