Def Leppard's Hysteria On The High Seas cruise is ending today on a very sad note as Last In Line bassist Jimmy Bain has passed away.

He died some time last night aboard the MSC Divina - apparently whilst in his cabin.

Jimmy played in a band called Wild Horses in the early 80s and Vivian has mentioned he was the one who had recommended him to Ronnie James Dio in 1982. Together with Vivian they joined Vinny Appice in the original DIO band line up.

According to Chele, people on board heard about this via a Facebook post from ex DIO drummer Simon Wright who had posted a status update saying "RIP Jimmy Bain" last night before Lep's show. No official announcement was made to fans by anyone in the band or from the cruise staff.

Last In Line played the pre cruise party at Magic City Casino in Miami, FL on the 20th January to kick off the cruise. Sadly now Jimmy's last ever concert performance. He had turned 68 on 19th December 2015.

Especially sad for Vivian and the rest of the band as it comes just a couple of weeks before they release their first album 'Heavy Crown'.

Michelle who is also on board said earlier that Eddie Trunk announced Last In Line will play a show at 8:45pm ET. A few songs to honour Jimmy.

Quote from about two hours ago - "Eddie Trunk just announced NO Last In Line show. Band will come out and show us 3 videos from their last work with Jimmy Bain. The band will also tell some stories about Jimmy. At 8:45pm by the pool....Last in line will come out to play a few songs to honour Jimmy Bain."

Chele went on to say that the three band members all told funny stories about Jimmy and three videos were shown on the screen behind them. They had been due to play their show in the Pantheon Theatre at 12pm ET. They said they would play some songs with another band at the Pool Stage tonight at 8:45pm ET as a tribute.

She also said the band were aware that Jimmy had died before the performance by Def Leppard last night. Along with Joe's vocal issues this also accounts for the shortened set.

The official concert photographer working on the cruise posted this message and photo on Facebook earlier today. He suggests that there might have been concerns about Jimmy's health (he had reportedly been battling with pneumonia).

UPDATE - Within the last hour Vivian has paid tribute to Jimmy on Facebook and confirmed his death - read his statement below.
