The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome to the Joe Elliott show once again here on the wonderful Planet Rock. This week coming to you all the way from New Orleans. Or as they say round here. N'Orleans. Home of the famous Mardi Gras. Now sadly it isn't Mardi Gras this week but we can have our very own for the next sixty minutes. Starting off Dancing the night away with The Motors."

The Motors

"Including all the crackles from my 12" vinyl version of that particular song. Produced by Mutt Lange back in 1977. That is The Motors from their debut album. A song called Dancing The Night Away."

U.F.O./Pete Way

"Now it's not very often I'll play the same back two weeks in a row. But I'm gonna make an exception this week for all the right reasons. A mentor of mine. A very good friend of mine going back to 1980 when I first met him. Pete Way sadly had a heart attack over the last few days. I played U.F.O. last week and for all the right reasons sending love out to Pete Way. We're playing them again right now."

David Bowie

"Once a Top 20 hit for ex Herman's Hermit pop idol Peter Noone. Long before the writer of the song was a household name. The writer of course was the guy that performed that version. Which came out after Peter Noone's version. It is David Bowie from the album Hunky Dory in 1971 with Oh You Pretty Things."

City Boy

"Yet another song produced by the magnificently talented Robert John 'Mutt' Lange. That is City Boy from the album of the same name with a song called Deadly Delicious. ."

Muse

"OK let's move into this century shall we for a change. From bells to drones. This is Muse."

"And before that Muse. Once again. Wow, I never even thought about that, produced by Robert John 'Mutt' Lange. From the album Drones we heard the song Mercy."

U2

"While they were mercilessly panned for giving their album away. In fact they dropboxed it. Or they emailed it to everybody overnight. And I say you get a free U2 album, take it. If you don't want it, delete it. I think it's a great album. The album is Songs of Innocence. The song that we just heard, Raised By Wolves."

Show Outro

"And that my friends all the way from New Orleans in Louisiana is about it for this week. It's been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you god willing next week at the same time from St. Louis in Missouri."

"So until then I'm gonna leave you with this and it's brand spanking new. And it's not even on their new album. This is The Struts with Put Your Hands Up. Until next week see ya!."
