Def Leppard will release their highly anticipated new self titled studio album on 30th October and there is 1 day to go.

The band revealed the final running order for the album on Instagram on 14th September.

The first single/radio track Let's Go was then premiered online a day later and released digitally on 16th September.

A new lyric video for this song was released via YouTube on 2nd October.

Track 2 Dangerous was premiered on 16th October via the Billboard website.

The album recording started in February 2014 when the band thought they might record one or two songs for a possible online release.

They ended up with 12 in that first session and decided to make a full album. This countdown tells the story of the album over the 2014/2015 recording period as told by the band in various interviews.

Joe Elliott - 18th August 2015 Interview Quotes (Translated) - Read More

"It's got a bit of everything. And that's why the album is called Def Leppard you now because over the years people may remember us mostly for things like Photograph, Let's Get Rocked or Sugar. But there's a lot more to us than that. If you just prod a little deeper under the surface. And this album is very representative of who we are right now in our early 50s. We've been a band for 37, 38 years. And it's got a bit of everything which is something that we've always wanted to do. You know with all due respect to bands like AC/DC. You kind of know what you're gonna get when they put a new record out. But with a band like Queen you can have a rock song that could well have been AC/DC but then you get the stuff like We Are The Champions which AC/DC could never have done. So we like the variation factor. So its with the power of a band like AC/DC and the variety of a band like Queen is right where we fall in the middle of."

"The album turned out really diverse. There are the loudest, biggest guitars we've ever done on some tracks," Collen said. "Some of the stuff we played live as a band…other songs were done pure top 40. And then also, there are songs where we've gone completely overboard on vocal multi-tracking…It's an amazing record."

"It was and it - you know everything always - yeah, it's great having an idea for an album title but you have to think about it. It's very rare they just flow and come naturally. And the album did come naturally so we thought you know let's call it "Def Leppard" because it's - it's not contrived. It's what it is and it's diverse. One minute it's the loudest. heaviest guitars we've ever had on a Def Leppard album. the next minute it sounds like it should be Top 40 and the next minute it's - I don't know. I can't even describe it. You'll love it though. It's great."
