The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome to The Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming to you this week from, who cares where!. Yes the US tour may be over. We may be on a three week break but there's no rest for the wicked because with a new album coming out in just over a week's time there's lots of interviews to do and I have to say my throat feels like an old leather boot right now. But at least it's one of those old leather boots like Noddy Holder used to wear. Which is a nice link to this song. Yes it's a Slade song but not Slade. This is Cheap Trick."

The Next Band/The Def Leppard EP

"Right, Grantham's best. Yes, I'm not kidding. Not Maggie Thatcher. This is The Next Band."

"And before that we heard a band from Grantham called The Next Band. Who once went to a studio in Hull, called Fairview Studios, to cut an EP. Hang on does that sound familiar?. Hmm we even borrowed their drummer. That's where we got the idea from. Frank Noon, we borrowed from The Next Band to perform on The Def Leppard EP way back in 1978. And from The Next Band EP we just heard there Never On A Win."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week."

"Until then I'm off to go and do a bunch of interviews. I've got so many to do because the new album is coming out in just over a week's time. So until next week I'm gonna leave you with this. From the album the Psychomodo. One of the most fantastically epic pieces of writing that the gentleman ever did. The gentleman is Steve Harley. The band Cockney Rebel and this is a song called Tumbling Down. Until next week see ya!."
