The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome to The Joe Elliott show once again right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. And this week it is coming to you all the way from Jacksonville in Florida on the eve of the very last date of our US tour. Which started all the way back in June. It has been mammoth but has been magnificent. And we are just days way from the release of our brand new album October 30th. And with Let's Go doing so well all round the world. I think it's time for a little bit more don't you. This is brand new Def Leppard."

Def Leppard - Dangerous

"From the soon to be released self titled brand new Def Leppard album that is a song called Dangerous."

Paul McCartney

"Earlier this week we had the good fortune of having a couple of days off in Columbus, Ohio. Which coincided with this next gentleman doing a gig there. And with his production manager being our old production manager. It was what's known in the trade as an easy in. Here he is was his second most famous band Wings. This is Paul McCartney."

Def Leppard Tour Break

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show right here on Planet Rock. This week coming to you all the way from Jacksonville in Florida on the very last night of the Def Leppard US tour. And then we're gonna take a nice three week break."

Lindisfarne

"If you're a fan of the band Lindisfarne I'm sure you were as saddened as I was to hear the news that on September 30th, just a couple of weeks ago, one of the original members Simon Cowe passed away in his adopted home city of Toronto in Canada. So in honour of his memory we've gone all the way back there to the very first Lindisfarne album Nicely Out Of Tune ad we heard a fantastic song written by the late great Alan Hull. The wonderful Lady Eleanor."

Tesla

"Now there's a couple of good reasons to play that song. One is that it was written by one Mr Jim Diamond who very tragically passed away at the very tender age of 64. Just a few days ago. He was probably best known for his solo hit I Should've Known Better. But he wrote that song back in 1982 for his band P.H.D. The other reason to play it is because that particular version is by our very good friends Tesla who have been opening for Def Leppard all the way through this US tour. And from their 1986 album Mechanical Resonance we just heard their version of the song Little Suzi."

"And talking of Tesla as we just were. You'll never guess who actually recommended the song Little Suzi to them. Oh yes. Take a bow Ronnie Montrose. The very man who suggested Little Suzi to Tesla. Both himself and Tesla being from Sacramento. He is obviously their home boy."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week all the way from Jacksonville in Florida. On the very last night of the Def Leppard US tour. It's been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time. But from where I have no idea because I'll be on a three week break thank the lord."

"Until next week see ya!."
