Def Leppard played show 85 of the 2015 World Tour earlier today in Tokyo, Japan with 19 songs performed.

The show took place at the Nippon Budokan.

The band's first time in Tokyo since 8th November 2011 during the Mirrorball tour.

The 20th appearance by the band in this city.

The 19th full show overall. One acoustic show was played in 1995 during the Vault promo tour.

The 8th show at this legendary venue known locally as the Martial Arts Hall.

The first visit to the city was in January 1984 on the Pyromania tour when they played show at Shibuya Kokaido and the Nakano Sun Plaza Hall.

The show was sold out although the top tier of seats was curtained off. The stage set up was the same as for the European leg of the tour.

'Let's Go' opened the show and got its first ever playing outside of the USA. A second new song was not played as had been expected.

New song 'Dangerous' was reportedly rehearsed during the soundcheck. Joe had hinted it would be played in the recent Periscope video and said the band had limited rehearsal time before this leg of the tour. He also said the band would likely only play two news songs in Japan.

It's likely to be played during the next three Japanese shows in Osaka, Nagoya and Sendai.

The band have started selling tour programmes again which use the album cover design. The first tour programme used since the 2008 Sparkle Lounge tour.

Photographer Ross Halfin was with the band again and took the usual end of Thrust band photo at the end.

"Domo. Well he's here!. Oh yeah. All the way from Northern Ireland. The boy who puts the fast in Belfast. Ladies and gentleman can you make a lot of noise please for a very happy and healthy Vivian Campbell!."

Joe Elliott - Pre Two Steps Behind Speech

"Thank you. (after brief acoustic snippet) That's for you Ross. Ross Halfin, legendary photographer. There he is. This is his favourite song so dedicate this to Ross. This is a tune that goes back 1993 and an album called Retro-Active. It was also featured in the movie called Last Action Hero. And this is your chance Tokyo to do a bit of singing. Do you wanna join the band?. For about four minutes you can say you were actually in Def Leppard. Do you wanna do that?. OK well if you know it, sing it. Two Steps Behind."

Joe Elliott - Pre Rock Of Ages Speech

"I have to say Tokyo this has been an amazing start to our tour. First night. What a crowd thank you. Domo Arigato. It's always a pleasure to come here. You guys have always been very good to us. But tonight has been very different because, tonight you have been the loudest I remember us ever having a crowd in Tokyo. The loudest crowd. And we thank you for that. However do you think that you could make maybe just a little bit more noise for the boy at the back. Stand up Rick Allen. He is gonna introduce this one for ya."

Joe Elliott - End Of Show Speech

"Tokyo. Thanks for having us. It's been a great night thank you. Domo Arigato!."

"Hey Tokyo. Do you wanna take a photo? OK so everyone get your hands in the air."

Once again it's been a real pleasure. Thanks for coming. Thanks for having us. Thanks for being here. Until next time and there will be a next time!. You do us a favour yeah. Don't forget us and we won't forget you. Goodnight."
