Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell was interviewed Malcolm Dome recently for the Classic Rock Fanpack.
During his lengthy interview he was asked about Joe's role as the front man of the band.
Vivian said that Joe is very much in charge of the band although everyone gets their own view.
He then goes on to say that Joe ultimately "runs the band".

Difference Between Def Leppard And Past Bands
"But things are a little different with Def Leppard. It's more of a democracy. Decisions are talked about before they're made. However, that only works up to a point. We all know that, when it comes to the crunch, Joe runs the band. He is the main man. But he'll never ignore strongly held views from anyone else in Leppard. So, we all feel a lot more part of how things go, although we give Joe the respect he's due as the guy who ultimately decides what happens."
