Def Leppard guitarists Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen were interviewed in Cologne, Germany earlier this year and video is available.

They talked to German site Gitarre & Bass before the show in Cologne on 28th May at the Palladium Koln.

The band's first time there since November 2003.

Both of them talked about their guitar setups and other general stuff about the band including health, the 2015 European tour, the recording of the now released self titled album and Last In Line/Delta Deep.

Metal Global - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

Gitarre & Bass - Vivian Campbell Interview Quote

"I've been with Def Leppard for 23 years. Lovely guys. Great, great band but before that I was very fortunate that I had the experiences to play with so, so many great singers and bass players and drummers and whatnot. And it's been a gift."

2015 Tour

"This tour's great. I don't think we've been here for like 12 years. So we're getting a great response. Actually on the whole European tour. We started off in Lithuania. We made our way up to Germany and that and it's just been brilliant. Way better than we expected. So we're really enjoying it."

New Album

"Yeah we're just calling it Def Leppard. We haven't had an album called that so it's called that. It's very diverse. It's got the hardest rocking The loudest guitars we've ever had on a Def Leppard album, the biggest guitars. Apparently the best guitar solos I've ever done on a Def Leppard record. That's what Joe keeps telling me. Everyone keeps telling me that whose heard it. So they like all the stuff. Big vocals like more than we've ever done. So it's really big and grand and it varies. There's 14 songs and they're very different. Each one is very diverse."

"We went in to record maybe one song or an EP. But got 12 songs. So there was no real pressure so the album has a distinct energy about it that some of the other stuff hasn't had."
