Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell was recently interviewed by Kenny Jones of 96.9 Jack FM and talked about the new album and his health.

Vivian talked about his health, touring in Canada, the Montreal rock audience, big arenas versus small venues, being a self taught guitar player, his guitars, not knowing where you are on tour, not hanging out with other musicians, Hollywood United and the 2015 studio album.

Vivian is still unsure of when the album will be released but does have great news about his current health.

Kenny Jones - Vivian Campbell Interview Quotes

His Current Health

"It's actually really, really well thank you. I'm very - I'm in very good form. For anyone who doesn't know I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma about two years ago. So I've had a few rounds of chemotherapy. After last summer's tour I went into hospital and did a stem cell transplant so it appears to have worked. You know the last scan I did looked clean the blood work's good and I'm feeling healthy and getting stronger by the day. So all good."

2015 Studio Album

"Yeah we just finished up. We've been working on a new record for a year. I gotta say. I've been with Def Leppard for 23 years and in my opinion this is far and away the best record the band has made during my tenure with them. And that's the good news. The bad news is I actually didn't have an awful lot to do with it. So I think they're probably better off without me."

"But I was doing chemo treatment during a lot of the recording process. So I wasn't able to go there. I was at the beginning and at the end I gotta say it's a great, great record. It's very diverse, it covers all the elements for us. And goes to a few places we haven't been too before also. But it was really - it was fun to make this one and we're excited about it."

Release Date?

"I'm not sure when it's gonna be released. It'll definitely be out some time in 2015 but probably towards the latter part of the year."
