Big 100.3 - Rick Allen 17th March 2015 Interview Quotes

2015 Studio Album - DEF LEPPARD

"I love it. I mean, yeah of course."

Favourite Songs?/Ones With Your Input

"It was great making this record. You know we spent a lot of time together. We did three really concentrated sessions together over the course of last year and a little bit into this year. You know it was great just all sitting down in the same room and figuring these songs out. It's nothing really to do with who did what or what material came from where. It was more the fact that there was this camaraderie while we were doing it and I think that really comes through in the songs that we came up with."

2015 US Tour w/ Styx/Tesla

"Just an incredible live show, we've been doing this for a long time. Our live shows are really second to none. We have the most incredible production. We have the most incredible crew. Our light show and our sound system are really just - it's the best."

"I wish I could see us you know. I wish I could experience the band. The only time I get to do that is when the guys are doing an acoustic session. If I got that opportunity to see Def Leppard. I certainly would."

Favourite Live Song To Perform?

"Ahh there are so many of them. It's too difficult to choose, really it's - when you perform some of the hits. Some of the classics they take on a whole different personality. A whole personality of their own. You know when you're playing in a rehearsal room it's like ah you know (we're) playing Rock Of Ages again. You know or Pour Some Sugar...or Rocket or you know Photograph or whatever and that's one thing. But as soon as you get these songs in front of an audience. Then the energy level is just incredible. That's really the gift. That's what kind of keeps us coming back continuing to do what we do best."

The Thundergod Name

"I'm humbled you know. I do the best that I can with what I have. You know in terms of how I am physically and if people see me as that then I'm happy to accept. I love the fact that people have a name to describe what I do. So yeah I feel very blessed."

Most Rewarding Part Of Career?

"Being alive today!. You know going through everything that I've been through, the fact that I have my family. I have a really good home life. I have a great relationship with the rest of the guys in the band. I feel like we're still on the up and up. It feels like I'm busier now than I've ever been and I think that in itself is a huge reward. I'm very happy to be where I am today."
