Def Leppard played show 26 of the 2015 World Tour last night in Tampa, FL with a 16 song setlist played.

The show took place at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre and was the first US show of the 2015 tour.

This was the bands first show in Tampa since 23rd July 2014 with KISS and quite an eventful one for the fans in attendance.

The local area around the venue was hit by a thunder/lightning storm just before Tesla were due to start. This resulted in a delay and fans being kept out of the storm by police and venue staff. Persistent rain and lightning (and 92F temps) continued for some time.

The venue has a large roof which covers all of the main seating area keeping many of the fans dry and safe from lightning. Lots of fans were stopped from entering the venue during the storm and decided to go and get refunds and head home.

As a result of the delays Tesla's opening set was cancelled by the promoters. Styx played a shorter opening set of 7 songs ending with their hit 'Renegade'.

Tesla explained the situation from their point of view in a tweet and facebook posting - shown below. Along with some weather shots.

Def Leppard's set was cut short by two songs with 'Promises' and 'Paper Sun' left out. As with the shorter sets in Europe, 'Armageddon It' and 'Love Bites' were switched around.

The second show with Trixter guitarist Steve Brown filling in for Vivian Campbell who will return in Birmingham, AL.

The stage set up was the same as the one used in Canada with the larger drum riser returning and the floor lights at the front of the stage and on the thrust being used. A change from the 2006 to 2012 US headline tours when they used ramps and multi level staging behind Rick's kit.

Joe Elliott - Pre Two Steps Behind Speech

"Tampa. How we doing?. I was saying earlier, it's the first night of our tour. 60 shows all the way across the USA. Tonight is where we set the limit right. This is where it starts. Everybody has to be better than this. So let's give them some work to do for the next 59 shows alright. You wanna do some singing?. You wanna do some SINGING?! because as you can see it's just you and me on this one. Are you ready?. Try that again, are you ready?!. Two Steps Behind."

Joe Elliott - Pre Rock Of Ages Speech

"Alright Tampa. I'll tell you something the next show we do in a couple of days is in West Palm Beach and they've got their fucking work cut out for them because that is some noise you're making out there. How about you make a little more for the boy at the back stand up Rick Allen. He as always will introduce this next number for you."

Joe Elliott - End Of Show Speech (Part One)

"Tampa, Florida. As always thanks for having us see you next time, take care good night."
