The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"You know one of the greatest things about being in a rock and roll band is the fact that you get to ply your wears all over the world if you're lucky and you get to meet some really interesting people. And you get to play some very, very exotic places as well as some back street dives now and again. But we are right now in a very exotic place because ladies and gentleman the Joe Elliott show right here on Planet Rock is coming to you this week all the way from Puerto Rico. Had a couple of weeks at home chilling out and tidying up and doing a few little domestics but now we're back on the road and what better place to start than Puerto Rico and what better song to start the show with than this."

The Wild Lies

"OK so the back story on this ones goes like this. We were in Montreal in Canada in early April getting ready for the Canadian tour. We walked into the bar of the hotel and low and behold who's in the bar but Joe Bonamassa, who was in town doing a gig and Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden, who was in town with his family. And we got - obviously we sat around and we had a few drinks and we got talking and Adrian gave me a CD of this particular band which just happens to feature his son Dylan on bass and the band are The Wild Lies. The song we just heard is the single from their upcoming album. A song called Asteroid Central."

Show Outro

"Known to his friends as JY but to everybody else Mr. James Young taking lead vocals their on that particular Styx track. From the album Grand Illusion we just heard Miss America and before that from the album Mechanical Resonance we heard Tesla and by the way I did lie because I said that we hadn't played with them since '88 but we actually did two of three shows with them about seven or eight years ago. but back in '88 we did hundreds of shows together. Great guys. The song we just heard Modern Day Cowboy."

"And that my friends all the way from Puerto Rico is about it for this week, been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time all the way from Birmingham, Alabama. So for this week I'm gonna leave you with this. One of the biggest American bands of all time. They wear outrageous make up. They wear outrageous costumes and they make outrageous music. Oh yeah and we toured with them last summer. I am of course talking about KISS. From their album Destroyer this is King Of The Night Time World. Until next week see ya!."
