The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome. It is the Joe Elliott show right here on the only station you should ever be tuned to. Yes, Planet Rock. We have 60 minutes of amazing music for you tonight. Starting off with this beauty from the mighty Quo."

Status Quo/Def Leppard In The Studio

"Spent a lot of time this week - well, not a lot of time because I've been very busy in the studio. But in my little bit of spare time, I've been listening to the Status Quo live box set which features three live albums. So I had a complete Quo fest and I must say when they were good, they were very good. From the album Quo that is Status Quo there with Drifting Away. Now as the year 2015 kicks into gear there's all sorts of rumours of bands getting back together and going out. And there is one band that if sibling rivalries can be put to one side could really, really make a great comeback this year. No, I'm not talking about Oasis. I'm talking about the Kinks."

Mcguinness Flint/Lindisfarne

"Couple of bands there that you could say have got one foot in folk rock. From the album Nicely Out Of Tune we just heard the magnificent Lindisfarne with a very appropriately titled Winter Song. Once covered, not so long back, by Def Leppard. And before that we heard Mcguinness Flint. Who featured two guys who would go on to have major success as Gallagher And Lyle. The song that we just heard, the Malt And Barley Blues."

Show Outro

"Show casing Paul Weller's ever improving song writing credentials there. That is The Jam with This Is The Modern World. And before that from the late 60s. German rock at its best the Rattles with The Witch."

And that my friends is about it for this week, been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time. Until then gonna play this in memory of Mr. Kim Fowley. Kim Fowley was an extraordinarily eccentric producer who died this week in Los Angeles at the age of 72. He did bring us The Runaways. So he did bring us Joan Jett, From the album Fit To Be Tied this is Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and Bad Reputation. Until next week see ya!."
