Def Leppard Touring US With Styx/Tesla First Show Announced

Def Leppard 2015.
World Tour 2015

Def Leppard will play with Styx and Tesla at the 2015 Minnesota State Fair it was announced earlier today.

The band will play a show on 27th August at the annual state fair.

They last played here in August 2011 during the Mirrorball tour.

Interestingly the news of this show seems to reveal the tour partners for the 2015 US tour - Styx and Tesla. The logo photo is also interesting as it shows the traditional Lep logo against a black background with shattered glass. Could this be tied into forthcoming single/album artwork?.

Styx played with Lep during the 2007 and 2008 tours. Their last studio release, a covers album called 'Big Bang Theory', was released in 2005. They are rumoured to be releasing a new one in 2015.

Tesla last played with the band in Dublin, Ireland in June 2009 and of course in 2005 and for most of the 1987/1988 Hysteria USA/UK tours. They released their latest studio album 'Simplicity' in June 2014.

Vivian Campbell said last week that the band would be playing with two others bands and a full tour announcement would happen within 3 to 4 weeks.

Star Tribune 2015 - News Quotes

"Even though we’re in the midst of the St. Paul Winter Carnival, the Minnesota State Fair wants to get on our radar. Def Leppard, Alan Jackson and the Turtles are the latest acts to be announced for this summer’s grandstand lineup.

The fair set a new precedent by announcing its first 2015 show, country superstar Carrie Underwood, in early December, and that Aug. 29 concert sold out. So why keep music lovers in suspense?

Three more performances starring time-tested acts will go on sale next week: veteran rockers Def Leppard with Styx and Tesla ($67 and $52) on Aug. 27".

All three of the newly announced headliners have been regulars at the Minnesota State Fair. Def Leppard has rocked the grandstand four previous times, most recently in 2011.
